Good Points: Friendly staff, good service and food. Also position as it was easy to reach town centre and Durley Chine

Good Points: location was good for bournemouth
Bad Points: the mattresses on the beds were awful...needed replacing as they had a big dip in them...gave both of us a bad back.

Further Comments: We booked this hotel (which was a little bit more expensive than others on West Cliff with vacancies )thinking that we would get a little more for our money. We were a little disappointed in some ways. The squeaking floorboards in our bedroom were very irritating and I ended up having a cold shower most mornings when others were running their showers. It would have been nice to have had a greater choice of friut for breakfast. However, on the positive side,we had a very good meal in the restaurant and the staff were very pleasant and obliging. We can say that overall our stay was enjoyable.

Further Comments: We booked this hotel (which was a little bit more expensive than others on West Cliff with vacancies )thinking that we would get a little more for our money. We were a little disappointed in some ways. The squeaking floorboards in our bedroom were very irritating and I ended up having a cold shower most mornings when others were running their showers. Good Points: Refurbished room, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Restaurant on hotel premises is excellent (award winning chef, I believe)
Bad Points: Smell from kitchen seemed to seep through bathroom air vent.
Further Comments: I think that more could be made of the refurbishment (assuming that this is hotel wide), the delightful outdoor heated swimming pool and splendid dinner menu in the restaurant.

Bad Points: A bit too far from the beach and the town centre. The english breakfast was cold.

Good Points: The staff were courteous & helpful. The hotel was very clean.
Bad Points: The shower was poor. It lacked pressure and fell apart when I tried to adjust the height.There was a shortage of drawer space in our room, but as we were only staying for a few days it was not important.
Further Comments: We found the staff to be most helpful & friendly. Our room was quite small but adequate. The meals and service were excellent.

Further Comments: being put on the top floor I kept banging my head on a part of the ceiling/roof, had I known this I would not have booked the room.

Good Points: Clean bright rooms, excellent food, central position
Further Comments: A friendly small hotel well up to a three star standard. Position central to town, clean & tidy. The staff did all they could to make the stay comfortable.

Good Points: The bed was bed it has a good bar and lounge. It's clean and within walking distance of the sea/town centre.
Bad Points: There was no decaffeinated coffee in the dining room - just decaf instant. There were only four TV channels and no radio.
Further Comments: We had stayed at the Montague before so we knew what to expect. It is a small hotel which offers a good service. The staff are polite and helpful - although I don't feel they would recognise us if I booked there again. The Montague fulfilled what we needed with no frills and nothing to complain about. These days that's not a bad record. We have stayed elsewhere in Bournemouth and this is the best for the price that we have found.
