Malmaison Glasgow near Glasgow: Glasgow Hotels

Good Points: Excellent bed and room facilities, nice bath
Bad Points: Hardly disliked anything - maybe a little bit short of drawer space in the room
Further Comments: Ideal for our short break - but we would have enjoyed staying longer. Very minor points - found the restaurant a little bit dark and gloomy (but food was excellent) and the huge wine list was a bit daunting - but we are just happy gluggers! Although the thermostatic control above the bath is excellent, it might be helpful to advise how you can over-ride it to run a bath. My wife ran a tepid bath at the pre-set shower temperature before she realised.

Good Points: i loved the building itself. food was excellent. decor is fantastic.
Bad Points: the room was very small,it was also very hot. we were disturbed at 4 o'clock in the morning by rowdy guests and a television blaring .when i reported this to staff the next morning i felt that they were not that concerned.also my breakfast order was wrong and took 45mins to arrive at my door.

Good Points: The decor and feel of the hotel was great, as were the takeaway toiletries.
Bad Points: Our room was really small, had no storage and overall we found the experience very poor value for money - we don't mind paying extra for a little luxury but this did not live up to my expectations at all. Service was poor in the brasserie on both days for breakfast.

Bad Points: Windows didn't open and the room was quite warm.
Further Comments: The hotel and rooms were creatively designed and thoughtfully laid out. We felt 'treated' by our stay. We came to rest and be relax and we had a great night's sleep, we liked the little touch with the toiletries and the bath and shower were superb!

Bad Points: Our room keycards randomly didn't work - having to go back to receiption not good when laden with shopping
Further Comments: Luxury for those who still think themselves young and funky but except the level of service normally associated with the old establishment hotels. The restaurant is definitely worthwhile; the champagne (cocktail) bar a must. I just wished I had had more time.

Further Comments: I thought the room rate represented excellent value for money and the booking process was very easy. The desk staff could not have been more helpful. For example, when left stranded by Air Berlin at the airport on Sunday night, it was a matter of moments before I was booked in for a second night at the Malmaison, and soon after that was eating a delicious hamburger in the restaurant.

Bad Points: I thought the room a bit too heated overnight - that's a personal thing though
Further Comments: My husbnd and I had a great weekend and a big part of that was our stay at Mal Maison. It really added a bit of class to a night at a concert for us. It's really very near to home but we could have been hundreds of miles away.
