Best Western Queen Hotel near Chester: Chester Hotels

Good Points: staff were pleasant and helpful, plenty of choice was available for breakfast
Bad Points: was disappointed to be put in a room which had a leak in the roof/walls, which was known to management previous to our arrival, was also exspecting and larger room.

Good Points: Proximity of the hotel to the railway station and bus service into the town centre.
Bad Points: Disappointing breakfast. The tea was cold; the 'toast' soggy and inedible. Would prefer a duvet rather than the traditional, heavy blankets. The mattresses were not particularly comfortable.
Further Comments: After we had retired for the night, we were woken by the sound of water flowing into our bathroom, through the light fitting on the ceiling. Shaken, we reported this to Reception immediately, got changed, and waited 15 minutes for a member of staff to arrive (who mopped up the water). We were not offered a room change, no mention was made of the incident when we checked out, and we were told there was no record of it. We actually felt stressed rather than relaxed after our night's stay.

Good Points: Excellent ambience. Good quality furnishings. Good food.Great place and not far to walk into town.
Bad Points: Had to wait ten mins while they went for 4 teddies, then to find out there was not 4 available at that point in time
Further Comments: Very good apart from checking out and not being able to buy 'the teddies!'

Good Points: This hotel seems to be very well managed and cared for.The room was excellent ,the staff helpful and friendly and generally hard working,even polishing the brass foot panel in lift entrance.
Bad Points: The location would be my only small negative comment about this hotel,the weather was bad while we were there and we had a ten to fifteen minute walk to the centre.However there isn't a lot you can do about that.
Further Comments: We very much enjoyed our stay and wished we had stayed longer.

Good Points: An excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff and good value
Bad Points: Extractor fan in room was noisy, it will need replacing soon
Further Comments: I have stayed at this hotel several times and would reccomend it.

Good Points: Excellent, friendly staff. Lovely old building. Good location for train station and town centre.
Bad Points: The restaurant was a bit pricey - the meals in the bar are much better value. It costs ￂﾣ6 per day to park in the hotel car park wheras it's ￂﾣ4.50 per day in the NCP car park which is right next door.
Further Comments: A really enjoyable stay in Chester - would definitely stay at The Queen again.

Good Points: Excellent hotel, rooms were lovely as was food. Hotel was right facing the train station with a good pub next door and bars, clubs and restaurants a five minute walk.
Further Comments: Perfect, we couldnt have asked for a better hotel.

Good Points: Good size bedroom. Cleanliness throughout the hotel. Helpful management staff Mr. David Jones. Good location. Helpful doorman, knew Chester very well and gave good advice with restaurants etc.
Further Comments: The hotel was well situated for a city visit to Chester and the rooms a good size as well as having a good level of cleanliness, however the over-riding feeling is that there are rooms placed in unfortunate positions which are not conducive to a relaxing weekend break.

Bad Points: The room looked very tired and was in need of a refurbishment. The fan in the bathroom was like a motorbike, the tiles were chipped, basin cracked looked very grubby. The room was very hot even with the windows open.

Further Comments: Both the wife and myself enjoyed the weekend including the Hotel. Even though we thought the room was on the small size after booking a executive room.

Further Comments: very good reception staff, very helpful. plenty of quiet areas as well as a decent bar to watch sport.we only had breakfast at the hotel and had no complaints. yes i would stay there again.

Further Comments: I have stayed at this hotel several times and would recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent hotel in Chester. All of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Good Points: Friendly and polite staff. High quality presentation throughout.
Further Comments: Hotel condition, facilities and staff all of an excellent standard. Breakfast and evening meal menu also excellent quality and well presented. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
