Good Points: room was clean & tidy, food was great,staff really friendy hotel set in plesant surrounding close to city centre but not to close
Bad Points: room was ample big enough but windows were small so the room was quite dark
Further Comments: Very plesant stay overall nice food and friendly staff,would be more than happy to stay here next time i visit york business or pleasure.Was worried about review before my stay but was very pleased on my arrival

Good Points: Excellent food at a reasonable price. Good wide range menu. All staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and will come back again ourselves.
Bad Points: Would have liked a better lounge area adjoining the restaurant to have a before dinner drink or relax with a coffee when coming out of the restaurant. The room provided was just table and chairs similar to the restaurant. Would have liked this to be a more relaxing environment. This is only a minor criticism.
Further Comments: Had everything to suit our needs.

Good Points: Excellent location, interesting buildings. Superb breakfast. Restaurant great value for well prepared food.
Bad Points: No lift to get suitcases upstairs.
Further Comments: I would happily return to this hotel. Location is great - within city walls and 10 minute walk to shops, but far enough away from pubs and clubs to be peaceful on a Saturday night. Staff are helpful and hotel restaurant provides quality and value.

Good Points: Nice set of buildings, relaxed atmosphere.
Further Comments: The hotel fully came up to our expectations. It is close to the city centre, the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, the service more than adequate.

Good Points: It was so convenient, and the staff were very helpful.
Further Comments: The hotel was better than expected after reading some of the other reviews. the gym and pool were superb, the room clean, tidy and hotel staff very friendly. Breakfast was excellent! It was superb value for money, I did not expect marble entrance halls and chandeliers for the price, but was extremely pleased with the hotel. I would take some of the other reviews with a large pinch of salt.

Good Points: The location and general hotel layout.
Bad Points: THe room although clean and functional i beleive requires modernising.
Further Comments: We had a lovely stay @ this hotel and would reccommend it to anyone. My only slight gripe was the room as i found it a little dated. My first reaction was that i was spending the night in my Grandma's spare room.

Good Points: close to town centre. relatively cost effective.staff were excellent breakfast was good
Bad Points: room was hot,despite no heating being on and the window being open.floorboards very creaky and tv channels poor reception
Further Comments: the hotel was what we expected. I had read previous reviews and new what t oexpect. The staff were excellent and worked hard. other guests were noisy but you expect that. I would stay here again and would recommend it.

Good Points: It was clean and adequate.
Bad Points: Room could do with an update and better ventilation.
Further Comments: This hotel is in a really convenient location and to have such a pretty garden so close to the city centre was a delight. The staff were friendly and helpful, you can't really ask much more of a 2 star hotel that almost gives you 3!

Good Points: Parking on site was a big plus. The bedroom was very comfortable. A good hot shower and a lovely breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff. Conveniently close to the city and the Inner ring road.
Bad Points: The public rooms were disappointing.
Further Comments: I was only there for one night and my comments are made in the boxes above.

Good Points: Very friendly and spacious hotel. good parking facility.
Bad Points: the corridor lights outside our room tended to be very bright and shone through our door on an evening.
Further Comments: What we were looking for was a hotel that was central to york, which had parking facilities, walking distance to the center of town and not to expensive. We are pleased that we picked the right hotel.

Good Points: Central to the city of York, Ye Olde fasioned modernised large hotel, Large bed, excellent breakfast.
Bad Points: Leisure facilities attendent had bad attitude, booked in at 7.30am, facilities not ready until 7.45, should be up and ready 15mins before opening.
Further Comments: Other than the pool attendent, 99% positive review.

Further Comments: Pleasant,attractive setting. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent position in York. Sample menu on website would be useful. Enjoyed our stay.

Good Points: Clean and comfortable
Bad Points: Bathroom,shower head was to low and I had to bend my knees to wash my hair and had problems with hot water / lack of it from shower
Further Comments: Found staff very helpfull and meals in hotel were very good, room was dated and I do not think it was worth the money that we paid per night. Though for all that the hotel was in an excellent location for the center of York and all things considered we did enjoy our stay.
