Good Points: Unique design, very clean and spacious.

Good Points: Good sized accomodation and good layout.
Bad Points: Very poor sound proofing between the rooms. I was kept awake until very late by another room playing their music very loud (using a stereo supplied in the rooms) and by screaming.
Further Comments: Very good first impressions on arrival, however reception forgot to give us our room key. We then ordered room service, but the food was uneadible, so I called room service to complain and requested they collect the food as I didnt want it to fill the apartment with its odour. However 1 hour later when we went out, it was still outside our room door, which showed me that our complaint really wasnt taken seriously. Plus we were kept awake and woken up several times during the night by other apartments. Its great to include a stereo in each apartment, however the rooms should have better sound proofing to accomodate this, which they didnt. I would only recoomend this 'hotel' for stag or hen weekends.

Bad Points: disturbed 3am Sunday morning by very loud guests
Further Comments: I though The Place was excellent. The nighttime disturbance was very brief and it's hard to see how the hotel can control unruly guests in the middle of the night. The location is terrific and the car was not needed for the entire weekend. Pleasant bar/relaxation area. Also tried the Cotton ? for breakfast - nobody else there, but food quality and service good.

Good Points: We enjoyed the freedom to be away from home without the restrictions of a hotel. We enjoyed the ability to make our own breakfasts and to have an occasional meal in the apartment ...say before going to the theatre on one occasion.
Bad Points: The refurbishment was a little disturbing but not too much of a nuisance.
Further Comments: We were completely converted to this type of accommodation. It was perfect for us. We have no complaints and have recommended it to all of our friends. The staff we met were absolutely charming and helpful. But then the hotel is in the north......need I say more. We also appreciated the cheaper option by booking on line. It was the best way to revisit the north and Manchester.

Good Points: I thought the layout of the hotel was great, espically the hotel apartments, equipment level was very high, a home away from home. I liked the touch of the free milk in the fridge on arrival, to allow a cup of tea to be made.... not having to use UHT milk is great, and the shortbread biscuits.
Bad Points: The hotel is undergoing upgrades, so a little noisy on the friday 9 - 5, but this was made aware to us on booking. I'd be happier if broadband was for free, its becoming more and more so in hotels.
Further Comments: I was very happy with the hotel and its staff. The Place is very well located and central. The staff were very helpful on all occasions. I liked the concept of the hotel. Cost was a little high, and part of that is the exchange rate from Euro the ￂﾣSTG. I'd consider staying again with a larger group in a Deluxe or penthouse apartment.

Bad Points: The doors slam very loudly so it would be helpful to have access to a door stop to avoid waking people up

Good Points: Very sppacious and modern. Everything was in good working order and the staff were very polite and helpful.
Bad Points: We were basically staying in the middle of a building site. This is fine until the builders arrived in the morning. If you're getting up for work not a problem, if you are hungover it could be a nightmare.
