Good Points: The setting and the grounds
Bad Points: Although full of character, some of the older areas did seem a bit shabby and in need of tlc.
Further Comments: Our stay was very short but enjoyable. The waitress in the main restaurant at dinner, although very efficient, could have been more relaxed and 'rushed around' a little less!

Good Points: Fantastic old building.
Bad Points: The hotel is badly neglected both inside and out. the room was very poor especially the bathroom,this hotel needs new managment.
Further Comments: With a lot of money spending on it, it is potentialy a fantastic hotel.

Further Comments: Beautiful site--going to ruin because of poor caretaking eg the sundial ares is overgrown with weeds. Total lack of mgt prescence. Dinner a complete disaster and staff amateur and limited because of lack of training.One lady however,L was a delight and tried to remedy problems, She was alone! Atiny lakeside patio, three small tables six chairs and hundreds of fag ends!! A complete disgrace for what was once a well run hotel.

Good Points: All the basics were there and the room was clean. Staff were very nice.
Bad Points: There was a slight unpleasent mouldy smell in the bathroom and the room was a little on the small side.
Further Comments: Overall we had a pleasent stay. The hotel and grounds were lovely and all memebers of staff we found were very helpful. There is a good range of breakfast and dinner services available and a 24 hour reception. I would have liked the rooms to have been a little larger although the bathroom was of a good size. I would certainly reccomend this hotel to family and friends.

Good Points: Comfortable bed, good size room with reasonably pleasant view
Bad Points: It was cold and there were not enough bedclothes. There were no personal touches at all - toiletries were poor quality. I hated the bars on the windows although I know they are there for safety reasons.
Further Comments: I am familiar with the hotel so knew what it was like. I like the location. The hotel is also a good place for informal discussions with clients.

Good Points: Adequate room. Not in the room for very long!
Bad Points: Shower water flowed onto window sill and did not apper to run away. Only one bathtowel in the bathroom!
Further Comments: Excellent wedding breakfast - food very good. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Good Points: Hotel was very historic, and interesting to stay in, it had a lot of potential for development. Lots of hot water in the rooms.
Bad Points: Catering could have been better. The milk provided in the room was past its sell by date. Breakfast was adequate but no-one seemed to be in charge of the dining room and more attention to detail would have made it better. Instant coffee rather than freshly ground was a disappointment.
Further Comments: The hotel is well placed for a visit to Telford, and was easy to find. This hotel provided sound budget accomodation. Staff at Madeley Court were courteous and efficient. The hotel itself has lots of potential, but the wing that I stayed in needs refurbishing, and the decor looked tired.

Good Points: Excellent location and beautiful building.
Bad Points: Bar is small and quality of Guiness poor.
Further Comments: Staff were very helpful and the standard of the hotel excemplory. A fantastic stop I throughly recommend.

Good Points: Great location, quiet and comfortable.
Further Comments: A great experience and great value for money. Liked the bar location and the small hotel atmosphere. People were friendly and helpful. Really glad we dined at the hotel food choice and quality was brilliant. I don't know why this surprised me but it did. Breakfast was very acceptable as well. I have stayed in many hotels and this made a great change to the big busy places where service is limited and food is predictably average. Well done.

Good Points: Nice setting, Unique old building.
Bad Points: Rooms in the new wing are tired. They need a facelift and a lick of paint. The bed clothes were thick with dust. Lamps with out bulbs, doors that do not close easily etc..
Further Comments: The hotel and ground are very nice, however the accomodation is tired and needs updating and cleaning. The price of drinks at the hotel is also very high.

Good Points: The setting is beautiful.
Bad Points: The hotel is not being maintained well. The first room they put us in was disgusting. The damp smell was awful and all the wallpaper was coming off the walls. Friends told us the lake next to the hotel had broke it's banks last winter and had damaged some of the rooms in the hotel. I take it we had been given one of these. The 2nd room was alot better but still disappointing. The outside of the hotel is beautiful and it's a shame this doesn't continue through to the rooms.
Further Comments: This hotel is not worth the full ￂﾣ110 per room price. We had a late deal and only paid ￂﾣ55. If we had paid the full price we would have been making a serious complaint. Usually we stay in the Telford International for approx ￂﾣ35 bed & breakfast and I would say the standard of cleanliness and maintenance there is much higher. It was fully booked so we ended up at Madeley Court. The only good points were a)the staff were really friendly, but I find Telford people are generally friendly,and b)breakfast was nice.
