Good Points: We thought the accommodation was very good. We enjoy discovering what kind of room we are going to get because it is so differant every time. We just love this place and recommend it.
Bad Points: nothing to dislike
Further Comments: Palace , you have got one great Hotel. It is an adventure coming about once every 5 weeks or so to see if the room is modern, Classical, hight ceiling or low, one room or 3!! as was the case once just like being transported back in time, how good was that.Dont ask what the room is going to be like , just waite for the surprise and enjoy.

Good Points: The room was large and quiet and had excellent easy chairs.
Bad Points: The television was a little dated with a bare minimum of stations and did not have teletext.

Good Points: rooms were clean, modern and well equiped
Bad Points: windows did not open, lack of fresh air
Further Comments: the hotel was fine, the staff were polite and helpful. Active hotels, however were very poor, despite sending me confirmation of the booking, three weeks prior to my visit, they had failed to notify the hotel. This mean upon our arrival no room had been reserved for us. Luckily the hotel was not full and happily accomodated us, if the hotel had been full, this could have been very embaressing.

Bad Points: tatty, smelly stairway (flooded carpet at some point?) lack of air of welcome. Staff simply adequate. If you have meeters and greeters near the door they should meet and greet as opposed to ignore and chat.
Further Comments: This hotel will no doubt appeal to stag/hen parties or builders/workers on contracts nearby but it does not lend itself to special occasions. We booked a reasonably priced room which was adequate for the price. Maybe we expected too much. The place could do with a good paint and decoration and a few smiles.

Good Points: Deux merveilleuses reprￃﾩsentations d'Opￃﾩra et un sￃﾩjour dans une chambre de grande classe avec la prￃﾩsence d'amis charmants.
Further Comments: La chambre ￃﾩtait de taille victorienne avec tout le confort moderne, de l'espace, du luxe, un calme de qualitￃﾩ exceptionnel pour un hￃﾴtel aussi central et trￃﾨs proche de mon point principal d'attraction : le RNCM-Royal Northern College of Music. Je n'aurais pas pu espￃﾩrer mieux!

Good Points: The fact that the hotel was a listed building interested us greatly.
Bad Points: We stayed in room 011 and experienced a considerable amount of noise in that we believe our room was adjacent to the aircon extract system.
Further Comments: A fantastic hotel with easy access to the train station, city centre shops and nightlife. Would definitely stay at the Palace again, but not in room 011.

Further Comments: The concierge and reception had told us that the laundry could be done in a day if left outside our room. However, when we enquired againwhen we reached our room, we were told that laundry was not done on a Sunday and we had to wait till Monday. Would have been good if staff gave us more accurate information in the first place. In the end, we had to wash our laundry in the bathtub. For convenience of business travellers,please offer laundry on weekends.

Further Comments: the hotel was out of this world ,i loved it.i walked into my room i was speechless it was beautiful ive never stayed in a posh hotel before ,i felt like a princess for the night,i stayed in my room all night i was so comfy i didnt want to leave. the decorating was loverly.the furnishing was great,the bed was fanstastic. i loved it all first class all the way. i will be staying here again. and i have told all my mates and family.
