Good Points: Easy access. Friendly Service

Good Points: Large room, TV had Sky sports channels, breakfast was good
Bad Points: smoking allowed in room & could smell this a little. Bathroom was rather tired.
Further Comments: Hotel is close to city centre & is of a reasonable standard. There is a very popular bar & good italian restaurant across the road.

Good Points: It was central for our needs and there were plenty of bars and restaurant within walking distance.
Further Comments: The hotel is situated in the Jesmond area of Newcastle which is a mix of residential and student accommodation, and has a good mix of bars and restaurants. The area generally was quite busy but not particularly noisy. However, it was the end of the student year and therefore not a good indication of what it would be like in term time.

Good Points: Cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, so was the food in the billabong at a reasonable price.Free car park.
Bad Points: We had a long wait to have our rooms checked and receive our bonds back but this was because a lot of people checked out at the same time.Our bathroom looked like it was ready for a refit(Only old fashioned, not unclean).
Further Comments: The Caledonian is a very nice reasonably priced hotel situated in a great part of Newcastle.We had a good time very close to the hotel and it is only a short taxi ride to the city centre.We stayed as part of my stag weekend and everyone enjoyed it that much we are talking about having a stag weekend anniversary every year!!!If we do,we will definately stay at the Caledonian.

Good Points: Good location just outside the centre of newcastle
Bad Points: A leisure facility - especially pool would be an advantage
Further Comments: An excellent stay in a very good hotel. The hotel was probably better than I anticipated from what I saw on the website. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Excellent bar facility. In a great location outside of the centre.

Good Points: The bed was particularly comfortable! The breakfast was also of an excellent quality.
Bad Points: One of my colleagues had a room at the front of the hotel and her sleep was disturbed by noise from outside the hotel. My other colleague was also woken at 3.30 a.m. by a another guest trying to get into his room.
Further Comments: Overall, we enjoyed our stay, although it would have been helpful to know in advance that the hotel was in a 'lively' part of town. I was also grateful for being allowed to leave my car in the hotel car park all day, after checking out, whilst attending a meeting.

Further Comments: A very comfortable and inexpensive yet modern and friendly hotel with good facilities and excellent staff - very convenient for staying and sightseeing in Newcastle. Thoroughly recommend.

Good Points: Room was not a bad size and staff were friendly
Bad Points: Plumbing needs some attention (noise was intrusive and unpleasent). Food was expensive.
Further Comments: A pleasent enough stay, though nothing particularly note worthy given the surfeit of hotels in the area. The rooms can be a long way from the main reception (L shaped hotel with the reception/restuarant and bar at the top of the L) and there will be steps to negotiate if you are staying at the far end of the hotel.

Bad Points: Having to pay ￂﾣ25 bond - humiliating!
Further Comments: Excellent hotel, a stand-out in Osborne Street where many of the other hotels look rather tired! Great value, even after having paid for breakfast. Lovely staff who looked after us well.
