Further Comments: in our opinion the room was over priced and needs updating and redecorating,it was quite shabby and the bathroom was about the worst ive seen. Saying that, the location was good and the staff friendly and helpful.

Good Points: although a very old hotel it was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated very relaxing, and very friendly.
Bad Points: Nothing.w
Further Comments: We thought the hotel excellent, we had a day in Plymouth shopping the weather was atrocious all day, we relaxed immediately we got to the hotel. The receptionist couldn't have been nicer we checked in very quickly and were shown to our very comfortable room soon after. We had a meal in the evening and although the dining room was closed for a private party we ate in the bar lounge which was very nice, and all staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only thing i will say on the negative side is that we thought our room was in need of refurbishing, but still very nice, and i'm sure that will be done in time. THANKYOU FOR A VERY ENJOYABLE WEEKEND. By the way we thought the breakfast was outstanding

Good Points: Our room was fairly private, clean and well presented with a view overlooking the ferry port.
Bad Points: The bathroom was quite compact and the sitting room chairs were well worn - but clean and comfortable.
Further Comments: The hotel entrance was elegant and the stairway very grand, we really liked the atmosphere. The check-in/out services were efficient and all staff friendly and approachable. Room service was prompt, the food well presented and portions were above adequate. The buffet style breakfast offered an extensive range of foods, and those not on display were available upon request i.e. pastries. Our accommodation was 'better' than expected and whilst the bathroom was a little compact, above all it was clean and well presented. The lounge chairs appeared a worn and in need of some attention, however they were non-the-less comfortable for this and still retained an air of grandure. The bed was extremely soft but suprisingly very comfortable. Overall a very enjoyable stay, we would be happy and willing to recommend the hotel to family and friends and make a return visit when next in the area.

Good Points: Excellent service, clean room, excellent food.
Bad Points: Very noisy plumbing
Further Comments: We needed a hotel close to Plymouth Pavillions, and the Duke of Cornwall was directly opposite. There was also a car park at the back where I could leave my car overnight. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the room was clean and well equipt.

Good Points: Nothing specific to mention as the hotel & its staff were, as I have stated, excellent!
Further Comments: The hotel and its staff were excellent. The only one thing I would mention, and it is not a complaint,is: when I came top use my RAC Sat Nav and asked for a list of Plymouth Hotels, so that I could navigate my way to your hotel, the Duke of Cornwall was not listed. It was only because I knew the name of another hotel in the same road as yours that, I was able to navigate there. Perhaps you could look into this, only you might very well be missing out on other guests who might like to stay at your excellent hotel.

Good Points: Traditional & well appointed with excellent food.
Further Comments: I have known this hotel for over forty years and have never been disappointed with either the accommodation, food or the staff. Being an older establishment it does not have modern amenities like a swimming pool or sauna etc.but I neither require or expect these facilities myself. In fact the smell of chlorine or sweat tends to put me off! Long may it continue. These havens of old fashioned style are very hard to come by these days.
