L'Horizon Hotel & Spa near St Helier: St Helier Hotels

Good Points: Everything was perfect, the room had a superb view over the bay, the food was excellent and staff very friendly.
Bad Points: Room was very warm even with the heating off but this was easily remedied by opening the balcony doors.
Further Comments: Absolutely superb in every respect. This is the 1st time I've been able to write a review like this..... Well done !!

Good Points: The hotel staff were very accomodating and the hotel itself was beautiful. Very much like to come back and stay.
Bad Points: We didn't have a sea view, and the all wires behind the TV (showing). Although this would not put us off staying again, its the only negative comment I can think of.
Further Comments: The views from the hotel were totally amazing and the bay itself is very clean as is Jersey. Would recommend staying. Anything you need to know is on their website and they are quick to answer e-mails with any questions.

Good Points: The hotel staff were very accomodating and the hotel itself was beautiful. Very much like to come back and stay.

Good Points: We stayed in a Superior Ocean View Room - fabulous views directly over St Brelades Bay from the big bed and also the good sized balcony. Staff were very friendly, attentive (but not overly so) and helpful and really tried hard to make your stay enjoyable. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were well appointed.
Bad Points: The only thing I would change would be the force of the water coming out of the shower - everything else was perfect.
Further Comments: We have stayed in Jersey before and although we stayed in super hotels - we have never revisited them; we always wanted to try somewhere new. We will definitely be coming back to the Hotel L'Horizon however; St Brelades Bay is spectacular, (the hotel websites' photographs do not do it justice), and the room we stayed in faced south so we had sunshine all day on the balcony. The rooms are well sound proofed - however, one evening we did have a child next door who started to scream loudly - the sound escaped through to us via the locked interconnecting door - closing the door to the bedroom which led through from the small hallway, (where the inconnecting door was sited), and the bathroom solved this however and we heard no more immediately. We ate out each night - we can recommend Jambo's the Chinese Restaurant which is near the hotel, the Boathouse in St Aubins Harbour and the Old Smugglers Inn at Ouaisne Bay, St Brelade. The Hotel provides a Sunday brunch which includes comprehensive self serve buffets for a traditional Sunday lunch and also large amounts of seafood including oysters and crab. Unfortunately we appeared too late for brunch on the Sunday we were there and they were about to start to put everything away but my husband chatted to, (I assume), the head waiter and he had a large platter of a fabulous roast beef dinner made up for me and a large platter of fresh seafood made up for my husband - he then set a table up for us in the bar. Afternoon tea for two is also recommended - you may however not want to eat for several hours later - it is delicious and rather extensive! All the staff made a great effort to accommodate us all and were always efficient and friendly. You can also have access to the internet if you so wish, (we wanted to check ferry sailings to and from Sark)- the receptionist will give you a login code which will allow you a set amount of time to surf. Highly recommended.

Further Comments: It was an entirely positive experience. The staff were all helpful and the hotel was very well presented and in a lovely location. The food was generally outstanding although one meal was only average (the Table d'hote)where seafood thermidor was a piece of salmon with two mussels and one prawn!

Good Points: Very nice in land facing room re-furbished room.Quality fittings and attention to detail. Super comfortable bed, pillows and duvet - the best I have ever experienced in a hotel room ! The room also appeared to be very well sound proofed as I heard no noise from neighbouring rooms. Cleanliness in the room was excellent - no mould or others hair in the bath area etc.

Further Comments: Fantastic hotel. Beautiful position overlooking St Brelades bay; very quiet when we stayed during end of December. Wonderful in-door pool / jacuzzi with stunning views overlooking the beach. Plenty of off street free parking. My only complaint would be that the main restaurant was our only choice during our 2 night stay over new year - leaving us with no where to eat on New years eve as we did'nt have tickets to the hotels function.

Good Points: well appointed, good size room, great view from hotel, great location
Bad Points: Overheated room.
Further Comments: I enjoyed my stay - the staff were friendly and polite, the room was lovely, and breakfast was good. My only problem was that the room was overheated for my taste by the central heating system.
