Good Points: no fuss, good straightforward accomodation with a decent breakfast all at a good discount on normal prices.
Further Comments: On-line booking easy but slight uncertainty over breakfast prices. Booking showed two prices(Full v. Continental), whereas hotel staff only recognise one price regardless of type of breakfast taken. Receptionist dealt with the uncertainty to my advantage.

Good Points: Room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. Particularly liked the lighting in the room.
Further Comments: My only criticism of the hotel would be concerning the restaurant at dinner. Food quality was not to the standard I would expect (and not in keeping with the general feel of the hotel) with overdone vegetables, small portions generally although the quality of the wine compensated a little. The restaurant staff, although polite, were rather disengaged, lacking warmth or a welcoming attitude and service was rather slow. All of which contributed to a rather downbeat feel to the restaurant. Having said that, breakfast service was better

Good Points: EXCELLENT evening meals (both in the bar and in the restaurant)
Bad Points: Breakfast seemed to be better the earlier you had it! Later on the sausages and bacon seemed to be less well cooked.

Further Comments: I've stayed in a lot of hotels, and this was disappointing and I'm afraid is not one I would recommend. It was certainly adequate, but I would expect more for the money that was being charged, and silly little things like charging for a newspaper or an extra delivery charge for room service (bearing in mind breakfasts deliver big margins anyway) just seemed greedy

Good Points: Lovely setting, clean and tidy very functionable. Very good food very freindly staff.
Bad Points: Unfortunately the pool Sauna and jaccuzie were closed due to referb and only notified at last minuet but we were compensated.
Further Comments: Overall a very enjoable stay but would have liked to have known about the work in the wet area at the time of booking as this was part of the reason for the choice of hotel for the use of the facilities. Other alternatives were offered so they tried to make the stay as enjoable as possible.

Good Points: Hotel was very nicely furnished and clean. Bed was huge! Breakfast excellent.
Bad Points: Couldn't find any instructions to turn the air-conditioning off. figured it out eventually, but it kept making an annoying noise every 10 minutes.
Further Comments: When we checked in we were not told that the pool was closed for rennovation. As this was my main basis for booking this hotel, I was not impressed. ￂﾣ75 per night for a hotel without a pool was a bit excessive I felt. Also, when checking in, we were not told anything about the hotel e.g. time of breakfast, where to get dinner etc. Then after trekking to our room, we found our key card had not been activated, and we had to trek back to reception again! When checking out we had to wait for abour 20 minutes, while a party of 10 was checked in. Only 1 person was manning reception, and we did not receive an apology for having to wait so long. Also, an automatic ￂﾣ1 donation to a local charity was automatically added to our bill. While I am not adverse to donating to charity, I would rather chose for myself which causes to donate to! So, on a whole, not impressed with reception. On the plus side, the restaurant staff at breakfast were very pleasant, and the choice and quality of the breakfast was very good.
