St Ives Hotel near Largs: Largs Hotels

Good Points: The only hotel found in the internet amoung sereral others found around the same area.
Bad Points: Single room and rate is shown but only twin and double rooms are available. Querry of the sincereity.
Further Comments: Satisfactory. Having to pay for twin room for what I need was a single room.

Good Points: Sandra and Matt were the ultimate hosts, when we arrived they upgraded our room at no extra cost because I didn't know the difference between a twin room and a double room. The food was excellent, the meals were served in an atmosphere of quiet sophistication with portions that were enough to satisfy my even my appetite. Sandra ant Matt also know Dunoon like I know the back of my hand, we were directed to an Indian Restuarant that served a curry as good as my favourite curry house in my home town of East Kilbride. On top of all of this I stupidly dropped a very treasured fountain pen without knowing where, it arrived at my hme a few days later, it had been found in the room we occupied in the St. Ives and returned to me at my home, padded in such a way that it was protected against the journey, above and beyond the service in my opinion, thanks Sandra and Matt.
Bad Points: The only bad point was that we were not able to stay longer, we had an exceptionally relaxing time in the St. Ives Hotel.
Further Comments: I would reccommend the St Ives to anyone, it was brilliant. We were made to feel so welcome. Do yourself a big favour, if you are going to spend time in Dunoon, spend it with Sandra and Matt at the St. Ives Hotel, you will not be disappointed.

Good Points: Friendly hotelier and wife. Comfortable room with built in shower and toilet facility, very quaint, thought it was a wardrobe at first. Beautiful view of the beach and the river clyde, I liked being right next to the beach with no traffic nearby just a private car park.
Bad Points: The breakfast was wonderful apart from the greasy fried bread.

Further Comments: Difficult to find anything to criticise. Car park might have been inadequate if hotel was full, but next time might come on feet rather than wheels so shall not let it worry us. Altogether very satisfactory.

Good Points: The view was excellent. Breakfast was lovely. Quick and easy access to city centre and public transportation.
Bad Points: I would of liked it if it would of had a mini fridge to keep food or drinks cold.

Further Comments: Myself and my husband both had a lovely stay at the hotel and were made to feel very welcome in the hotel by the owners and we will be giong back in the near future for another visit
