Good Points: Looks like a familie hotel, friendly staff
Bad Points: 2 days without shower as the water pressure in the morning was so low, that there was no pressure on the second floor. Staff says that they will fix it, but nothing was done. I even did not got another room.

Good Points: Location
Bad Points: Furnishings poor, carpet frayed. Room smelled. Shower curtain was slimy with fungal mould. Trouser press had had plug cut off. Bar and reception area very smoky.
Further Comments: We found the hotel was below our preferred standard. For the cost, the room was less than good, with unfresh smell, dirty shower curtain and trouser press inoperable. Although it was supposed to be a smoke-free room, the bar and reception were very smoky. Carpet in bedroom had very bad stain and corridor/stair carpet was frayed and holed. Steps to front door were cracked and unclean.

Bad Points: double bed size was appropriate for the room but too narrow for comft
Further Comments: overall good experience. good value. would have been more cmfortable sharing a larger bed or with a twin bedded room but appreciate the constraint of the room size. I should like to stay here again and shall ask about the particular aspect when booking.

Good Points: Room was spacious especially for a single room. Bathroom was very large.
Bad Points: Bathroom was extremely large, but was beginning to look dated/in need of refurbishment. Please not this is a very minor point because it was all clean and fully functional.

Bad Points: generally fabric of hotel- especially corridors, felt run down/shabby
Further Comments: At Cￂﾣ55 value ok- even though felt shabby, bar smokey and generally had low rent feel. At the rack rate of ￂﾣ125 + about ￂﾣ14 extra for brakfast I would have felt entirely cheated.

Bad Points: The only area of concern was that I couldn't get a window in the room to shut. I was on the ground floor and felt uneasy during the day leaving personal items in the room.

Further Comments: Despite requesting a non-smoking room, at check-in I was allocated a smoking room. The room heating level was also too high. Bar area was small, with insufficient seating, an obtrusive television and no ambiance. By contrast the dining room is large and under-utilised. Staff were often hard to find and the service was generally slow. However, the price was reasonable, the location was good, there was plenty of parking, the leasure facilities were good and the staff (when you could find them!) were pleasant and helpful.
