Good Points: Good position, nice clean linen!
Bad Points: It was ok but overpriced for the general state of hotel and room
Further Comments: It's certainly adequate for an overnight stay, but we found it to be overpriced for the standard of accomodation on offer. The hotel looked very tired and in need of a revamp, parking is available but limited as we couldn't get our car in. Food again was ok but failed to live up to expectations (and price). Overall, it was a little disappointing.

Good Points: Great and friendly staff. Beautifully presented food, and of a really good quality. As this was a Monday - usually known as the Chef's night off, we were very impressed. Good wine list.
Bad Points: No lift, and we had heavy cases to carry up three floors, and we are not young. The shower was erratic - hot/cold depending - we suppose - on whether someone else was using the water supply. Bedroom view were the slates of a bit of the hotel roof opposite
Further Comments: Lovely old hotel in a pretty town overlooking the market square. lovely setting. Staff were friendly, but there was no one to help with our very heavy luggage which we had to carry up three floors. The food was excellent, with very good service. Good wine list. The shower temperature depended on who else was using the water. Lousy view.

Good Points: Good situation, very helpful, friendly staff.
Bad Points: Walking up two and a half flights of stairs to my room.
Further Comments: This hotel has a nice ambience, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is good if a little pricey. Freshly cooked breakfasts and butter on a plate (not pre-wrapped from the freezer)is wonderful and quite rare these days.

Good Points: The bed was very comfortable indeed.
Bad Points: I was on the top floor, and there wasn't a lift. Not normally a problem for me, but as I completed a marathon on the Saturday, my legs would have appreciated the treat when I returned!
Further Comments: I found the staff at the hotel probably the most friendly and helpful that I have come across anywhere. They contributed hugely to how nice it was to stay at the hotel.

Good Points: The view of the square.
Bad Points: Shabby bathroom. Enamel missing from bath, Toilet seat would not stay up. Shower falling off wall. Toilet flush handle detached.
Further Comments: The food at dinner was dreadful.

Good Points: The staff where all very helpful and friendly.
Bad Points: The decor and furnishings are to old and makes the building more shabby looking then ever, it is in desperate need of an overall also we paid ￂﾣ10 less to share a single room that was terrible it was not worth what we where charged. We stay all over the country with my husband as he works for BP & i must say this is the worst Hotel we have stayed in i would not recommend it to anyone i know.
Further Comments: I thought the hotel put a damper on my weekend.

Further Comments: room was grubby - no headboard on bed meant pillows kept falling down the back of the bed. could have been better.

Good Points: Hotel was very nice situated on the town square with friendly staff.
Bad Points: Room was very nice, but didn't like the idea that the fire escape was in our bathroom, and anyone could have got into our room by breaking the glass on the door.
Further Comments: Enjoyed our stay in a friendly hotel in a beautiful old building which was tastefully decorated and furnished.

Good Points: Comforable, relaxed and quiet.
Bad Points: There is limited parking at the hotel and parking on a market day eg. Saturday can be a problem.
Further Comments: The hotel is an excellent base from which to see Richmond and the surrounding area and there is plenty to see both on foot and by car. The mile walk to Easby Abby is well worth undertaking. The only small drawback is the difficulty over parking which could perhaps be overcome by arranging for staff to park elsewhere.

Bad Points: no hot water at night and early in the morning
Further Comments: there was no hot water when I arrived in the evening, still cold when I got up at 6am. I checked again just before I left at 8am, and finally hot water was available - but too late for me. very annoying - but apart from that it was a lovely hotel

Good Points: the lovely location and the view from the room
Bad Points: the shower in the room looked good but didnt function well!!
Further Comments: The location couldnt have been better, the views from the room were spectacular. The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable with an enormous bed! The hotel itself was easy to find, and full of character with a lovely dining room and lounge area. We have stayed in a lot worse 4 star hotels!

Good Points: very friendly, helpful staff
Bad Points: I would have liked to be given a copy of the bills for meals etc purchased at the bar. Would be easier to check the final account.
Further Comments: Generally an excellent stay.
