Bad Points: No minibar in the room and bathroom was a bit tired looking.

Bad Points: The leisure equipment was a little dated - also too much chlorine in swimming pool

Bad Points: dinner booking reservations - could have been easier
Further Comments: would have preferred to know if it was necessary to book a table in the carvery restaurant, as we were disappointed at the fact that we could not eat there as it was too full - we should have been told we need to book early to have dinner reservations

Good Points: Friendly staff, clean hotel and excellent facilities available eg pool, sauna. Beautiful grounds.
Bad Points: Carvery dinner was poor, expensive, and available drinks limited.
Further Comments: From the outside the hotel is beautiful as is the interior of the main building. Quite excited and hight expectations of the hotel knowing that the Bolton Wanderers football team were staying there! Check-in was swift and polite, staff were always helpful. The room was impeccably clean, warm, everything worked and well organised, although a bit of a shame after seeing the external building that the rooms had no character. But not a criticism, it caters very well for the guests you would expect / conferencing etc. The pool, sauna, steam room etc were fantastic - great staff, clean, no complaints 5*! Bar area and conservatory lovely, allowed to wander around freely having a look. The carvery dinner was disappointing - quite expensive for the quality of the food. The jazz band didn't play any jazz although they were quite good! Limited drinks were available even though it would have been easy to pop through to the main bar and get a bottle of what I had drank there 5 mins earlier. Bad Points: Shower was very slow. It took ages to wash my hair.
Further Comments: There isn't much to say. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and it was very convenient to stay there due to us being at a wedding there. But I have to say that I can't justify the price of the hotel. Normally it is ﾣ160.00 per night to stay there and so if it wasn't for active hotels price of ﾣ96.60 there is no way I would of paid the full price. For ﾣ160.00 I would of expected a suite!!!

Good Points: La Fontaine Restaurant first class. Leisure facilities superb. Staff very helpful.
Bad Points: The only thing I would change is the English weather!
