Good Points: Nice grounds, outwardly very charming
Bad Points: A bit tatty in places. For example our bathroom floor lino was cracked and the floor felt soft where water had obviously softened the wooden floor. The furnishings were a little tired and the Sky Sports (particularly required as there was an England match on) was not working
Further Comments: I would have liked to have known that there was a wedding on the same day as our arrival. As it happened a person, presumably from the wedding played the piano, badly, until 3.00 A.M.! Could not get any response from reception when number was dialled. Had to go down physically, but no one was manning the desk, nor could be found in the vicinity. However we were offered and accepted a 25% discount off the bill. It did though somewhat upset our stay and as it was for my husband's birthday I was disappointed.

Good Points: The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy, all needs were met, i.e. towels etc. The fruit was a nice touch.
Bad Points: Some other leisure facilities as well as tennis and fishing i.e. a small gym, sauna, swimming pool.
Further Comments: I would like to have known that there was a wedding taking place because of the noise from the disco which we felt was far too loud at 11.45pm when we were trying to sleep. My husband and I speak from experience when working in hotels as mobile D.J's one has to turn the sound down because of guests staying there.

Bad Points: refurbishment
Further Comments: Staff very helpful and accommodatig even though they were busy with a wedding that day. Young daughter accepted easily even though she was often noisy!!!

Good Points: Good comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Superb restaurant food.
Bad Points: More seating in the bar area and a dedicated smoke-free section.
Further Comments: Very likeable hotel with fantasticaly helpful staff. Lovely central courtyard.
