Further Comments: Unfortunately the hotel did not meet my expectations as a 4star hotel The reception and dining areas were fine, but there are too many corridors to walk down. Also I do not want to be reminded of previous football teams who stayed there many years ago. The hotel needs to change with the times and become upmarket with modern ideas and requirements. I was looking forward to staying at the hotel but felt disappointed after my stay.It did not represent value for money, especially as breakfast was ￂﾣ14 extra.

Further Comments: The gym/pool changing rooms in dire need of refurbishment and ladies facilities also cramped. Brasserie was a seventies throw back and breakfast very poor. Ordered champagne and ale in room on arrival. This was not in room. Later told sent to wrong room twice. Eventually got drinks at 9.30pm - 6 1/2 hrs late! Told drinks would be complementary by staff. Next day told they would be charged to our account. Overall thought service was poor.

Good Points: I found the accommodation very comfortable and the facilities were excellent
Bad Points: Nothing - everything was first class
Further Comments: I found the staff - without exception- first class. The food was good and the waiters were very attentative. I was travelling with my sister and an elderly mother who was not very mobile. I had asked for a room with very little walking however, our rooms were on the second floor so she had to walk up and down a corridor which had an incline. Other than that, our stay was excellent .

Good Points: clean and tidy. The outside of the hotel looked lovely, but our room was very poor in comparison
Bad Points: Chipped sink and bath, none of the furniture or lampshades matched each other. The room was also rather small and packed with too much furniture for a room that size.
Further Comments: Overall, the standard of the hotel itself was high, very nice surroundings and building. The inside is a bit hodge-podge though. Almost as if the owners couldnt decide what they wanted things to look like so they had everything. The facilities such as the pool, spa area and gym were great, really nice. The restaurants were nice lookoing but very expensive. It costs ￂﾣ4 for two small galsses of coke! The room was also a bit wierd. Nice looking, but the bed was a bit limp, none of the furnoture matched and there was way too much of it for a small room. The fact that the bath and sink were chipped and the kettle had a crack in it, not to mention the stinginess of only 2 teabags for a double room felt a bit off to us. Overall, the feeling we got wasw that the luxury was only on the surface, meaning that we would not come here again.

Bad Points: staff were poor. ex: the girls at check in openly had an argument about who was capable of checking a guest in correctly!
Further Comments: lovely location and not too expensive. would probably stay again if i was in the area.

Good Points: peace and quiet
Bad Points: not enough tea making facilitys ie number of tea bags/sugar/milk etc
Further Comments: overall stay was nice but it was disapointing to find out on check in that all the spa treatments were fully booked,as this was a birthday gift for my partner
