Quality Hotel St Albans near Watford: Watford Hotels

Good Points: Staff were vary helpful and welcoming.
Further Comments: The staff were extremely helfpul and very friendly. They made my business trip more enjoyable by being so pleasant.

Good Points: Very friendly and helpful staff
Bad Points: Not being able to get anything to eat or drink until 5pm on a saturday as there are no staff on duty .

Further Comments: Economy Hotel - fit for purpose. Not happy about lack of availability of coffee for wedding party guests who had been drinking at the bar and wanted a coffee before turning in, and Manager was unavailable to complain to. Breakfast options were in my view sub-optimal - I have never before stayed in an Hotel where the option of fish for breakfast (either kippers ot poached haddock with poached egg) was not available - even if 12 hours notice was required!

Good Points: It was convenient & significantly cheaper than its more expensive but poorer quality Quality Hotel in Hatfield
Bad Points: I could not have a shower as the flow of wtater was less than a trickle from an outdate shower head in an upgraded room. Very disappointining. Also, the heating in the bathroom did not work either.
Further Comments: It was OK. I would only use the hotel again if I had to. It was very busy, which is probably due to its price & convenience. As such I do not think that there is a need for the little things to be checked. I would only recommend it to anyone needing to stay in St Albans on a budget & for one night only.

Good Points: the breakfast was very good
Bad Points: the room was very poor: only a single bed which sloped so kept fighting not to fall out of bed
Further Comments: general overall quality was poor value for money and the problem with the room ( see above) led to a very bad night

Good Points: The room was clean and the bathroom was particularly spotless-this made the stay(even just for the night)worthwhile
Bad Points: In the late hours of the evening there was music nearby and the train station is obviously near, however, this did not disturb our sleep whatsover.
Further Comments: The check in and out were both prompt and effective. The room was very clean and we were comfortable during the stay (even though it was just one night). Breakfast was enjoyable and again the service was immediate. I would recommend this hotel and use again if necessary. Many thanks

Good Points: The Bar and Restaurant staff were very helpful. When they forgot to order the wife meal they immediately rectified the problem and offered us a compliment drink without any hesitation.
Bad Points: The bed was uncomfortable and sloped to the middle. The floor in our bedroom creaked. This also extended to the corridor outside our room.
Further Comments: We were surprised that we could not get a sandwich on Saturday afternoon as the bar was shut. Reception staff did not seem interested when we asked about the Beauty Treatment available as this was run by someone else even though it was mentioned on the web. The least we were expecting was to be told of the times that they were available from. Due to this the person running this business lost out on our custom.

Bad Points: The room was small and basic and the radiators were either full on making it sauna hot, or off, leaving us freezing. There were creaking floorboards everywhere.
Further Comments: The hotel is ideal for a one night stay. We stayed for six and it became cramped and a bit of a struggle. The late night early morning noise on the corridors and menacing drunken behaviour at the enterance from guests attending a function on Friday night was a concern. A bit expensive for what it is.

Further Comments: I have stayed at this hotel with my crew for the last three years. It is clean and the staff are great. However this year the ventilation in the bedrooms was a problem. Two of my crew and myself found it to be far too stifling. We like rooms with open windows. It was extremely stuffy. Would hesitate next year.
