| Good Points:
The public areas of the hotel were lovely and stately; the location is central and easily accessible from the Lime Street train station. |
| Bad Points:
Nonworking television, weak shower, loud club downstairs, nonworking lift |
| Further Comments: The room itself was small, but no smaller than is to be expected at an historic British hotel. What bothered us were the lack of working facilities. The television was supposed to have 8 stations, but only three were watchable - the others were so full of static and fuzz that they were impossible to watch. The shower had a tiny showerhead on it, so that you could really only wet one part of your body at a time. The shower curtain on the shower ended about three inches ABOVE the bathtub rim, so every time we took a shower the floor outside the tub got absolutely soaked. One of the lifts in the corridor refused to work - the doors would shut but it wouldn't go anywhere. To top it all off, we found out too late that there was a very loud club downstairs which kept us up until all hours. The patrons spilled out into the streets, and even from the fifth floor we could make out every word of every song being played down there. The staff were absent and didn't seem bothered to offer any assistance at any time - they didn't ask if we had any questions when we checked in and didn't ask if we'd had a pleasant stay when we checked out. Overall, the central location is absolutely the only thing this hotel has in its favour. |

| Good Points:
Well decorated, comfy bed, high ceilings gave a feeling of space |
| Bad Points:
Very little room either side of bed & no remote for the TV. |
| Further Comments: The lady at check-in desk, although efficient, was plain unfriendly.
As the first person a guest talks to she should be welcoming and pleasant - she was not.
Hall Porter was the opposite - 10 out of ten.
Fantastic building, lounge etc.
Why though the very expensive price for the breakfast ?? - it drove us away. |

| Further Comments: in our room there was dirty towels, no hangers in the wardrobe and no spoon with the tea and coffee. I requested these items several times and never got them. |

| Good Points:
Good size room and lots of space in hotel generally. |
| Bad Points:
The rooms were far too hot. |
| Further Comments: The hotel, location and staff were excellent.
The services need updating - this will save the business a significant amount of money in fuel bills and also reduce the carbon footprint!! |
