Good Points: Friendly efficient staff
Bad Points: It was right on the road and the noise made sleeping very difficult
Further Comments: The staff were good and the breakfast very good. Although it is an old building the cleanliness was good. The shower worked well. However this was all overshadowed by the noise from the road outside making sleeping nearly impossible.

Further Comments: Whilst the staff were, mostly, courteous and friendly there is miscommunication amongst them regarding timings of facilities offered by the hotel. The pricing of the services provided ( Bar/teas etc) are significantly higher than those found in comparable facilities

Good Points: Excellent classical style o fth enewly refurbished room. Excellent breakfast with fairly good service.
Bad Points: Rudeness of receptionist- refusal to take 2 multi function cards offered delaying us when we were late for daughter's wedding. I lost my silver bangle an d was told someone would phone me back. They never did. Did anyone find it?
Further Comments: Lovely hotel and atmosphere. nice open fire - pity door was lefr open so it was too cold to sit by. i would have like to have been offered fish for breakfast as i have at lother Macdonald hotels but was offered Full English Breakfasst or Buffet- no in betweens. there was no sugar on our table. Otherwise - perfect. We will come again.

Good Points: The room was excellent with everything you needed including a mini bar & blackout curtains to ensure a good sleep and plenty of space.
Bad Points: There was nothing that we can say we disliked.
Further Comments: We have stayed here before so we knew what to expect.The prices are reflected in the accomadation and services available.It is not cheap but nor should it be, but still very good value for the services and facillities available. We will stay here again without hesitation.

Good Points: The room was lovely with a four poster bed.
Bad Points: The room service food was not very nice.
Further Comments: We were disapointed when we arrived to find we were booked into a modern room as we were drawn to this hotel from the photos on the web site. The Staff however were great and they moved us to a lovely old room with lots of old features. In fact all of the hotel staff were really great. The breakfast was so much better than other hotels we have stayed in. Overall it was a lovely place to stay.

Good Points: very nice old character coaching inn but with additional modern rooms to the rear which were spacious,well funished complete with mini bar and were quiet, so a good nights sleep was easy.
Bad Points: The only negative things were some discolouring on the tles in the bathroom corners and the shower curtain were discoloured at the bottom. Very little to complain about really.
Further Comments: We considered this a nice hotel with very friendly and competant staff.A very cosy lounge / bar. We would have no hesitation of returning. The only thing that was a mild dissapontment to us was the restaurant menu on the day that we were there did not appeal to our tastes and we therefore dined at a nearby French restaurant instead.This is not a negative against the hotel restaurent just our taste in food. Breakfast was very nice.

Good Points: Room facilities
Bad Points: Small room described as a'Superior room'
Further Comments: This is an historic hotel idealy situated in the centre of Dorking and convenient to the shops. The staff were helpful and the room well equiped. But overall and in comparison to other establishments, the rooms are 20% overpriced at ￂﾣ120 per night. We were dissapointed with the small sise of the room and the general cleanliness of the hotel.

Good Points: over all it was nice

Further Comments: there was a problem with our evening meal but was sorted out. but i would like to add it the the waiter need training. as when we got the meal it was wrong and i went to get some one as the waiter had gone into the kitchen. she got the waiter and he came over and we told him the meal should have been lamb and not chick well all he said what do you want me to do about it and implied that we eat the meal. at that point we feel he should have said sorry and gone to reorder the meal. that would have been that and no more said. but by the time we got some else time had got on and we had to meet our friend. they said a new meal would take twenty minutes to cook and we didn`t have time to wait. we are both diabetics and needed some thing to eat then so we went to sainsburys for a snack. then order a meal for later on in the room as we as out until near 22.00 it had to be 22.00. so we didn`t sleep very well that night. but having said that it was still a good stay.

Good Points: Very little
Bad Points: The room was slightly out dated. The hotel foyer didn't appear as being very clean and there was a musty smell on entering the hotel.
Further Comments: At checkin, we wern't told that checkout was at 11am and the hours between which breakfast were served. We therefore missed our breakfast. Overall, ￂﾣ100 to stay in this hotel for one night was far too expensive in my opinion.

Further Comments: I only stayed for 1 night, so there wasn't much i needed other than a clean, pleasant place to stay, and that's exactly what it was.
