Good Points: Excellent location at the start of the Llanberis path up Snowdon.
Bad Points: Generally getting ready for a refurb. The hotel feels a bit old fashioned and outdated.

Good Points: Setting perfect for climbing Snowden.Beautiful grounds.Dog friendly.Staff friendly.Hotel has potential.
Bad Points: Corridor shabby & smelt of stale beer.Food not good and overpriced.
Further Comments: On the first night we had an extremely disappointing meal. Did not eat in the hotel in the evening for the rest of the week.Difficult to find somewhere else to eat in the evening within 10 miles of the hotel.(Bryn Twrch at Capel Curig was excellent for food but particularly for vegetarians or vegans.) Breakfast was adequete although the eggs were consistently tasteless.On last morning most of the buffet was unavailable,staff were vague and milk jug was dirty. I raised all problems directly with the duty manager who was courteous and genuinely concerned.Hotel changing management on that day.It is the food which let down this hotel.Would recommend this hotel generally but not the restaurant.

Good Points: the view of the mountain from the window was fabulous.
Bad Points: the decor in the room could do with some updating eg the tv and some of the furniture.

Good Points: Price , location

Good Points: Fairly comfortable beds. Easy to find, some bedrooms and the breakfast room have spectacular views.
Bad Points: Very indifferent catering, undercooked food, breakfast bowls still had specs of dried food on them from their last use. Dishwasher filters need a clean and service.
Further Comments: A, No double bed options available on line, twin and single only. maybe these were fully booked as we only booked quite late. B, Lifts to rooms, we were on the third floor and had to change lifts and walk round 2 sides of the building to do so. C, Catering, we had dinner on the Saturday, leeks were undercooked and the trout in bacon was also slightly undercooked. 'Roast' potatoes were inedible. Sunday dinner was better but not by a lot. On the Sunday morning the breakfast bowls for the cerials were not properly cleaned although this was ok on the Monday morning. No salt in the salt celler on Sunday evening. Attention to detail in the kitchin appeared lacking over the weekend but the menu was nicely varied. The hotel location is ideal for exploring the area although there are no alternative resteraunts within 10 miles that we found. TV remote did not work but the set did show a good selection of channells.

Good Points: Good size warm bedrooms Good shower
Bad Points: Rather a hike to our rooms on 3rd floor ....2 lifts and 1/2 mile of passages! Still not as bad as Rooms with 400 numbers which were almost as far as the top of Snowdon!

Good Points: room was very clean. bed was comfortable. breakfast service was fast and choice of menu was very good
Bad Points: noise at night
Further Comments: a good nights sleep would have made all the difference to our stay and as that was impossible i cant give any good marks for that aspect of the review the air conditioning system was very noisy and the constant humming together with the noises from the other rooms due to the thin walls made that impossible. other than that the hotel was very clean , staff helpful and breakfast was well presented and served
