Good Points: location
Bad Points: tired - in need of modernisation
Further Comments: Staff friendly and helpful, although under pressure due to staff shortages. Room 'spartan' with no 'personal' touches. Although there was a sign in the lobby saying that a major refurb was due to be carried out, not everyone is guaranteed to see this and so maybe a letter from the GM in the rooms informing guests of timescale, etc. would have been a more personal touch. One of the lifts being out of order was not very convenient on what seemed to be a particularly busy Saturday evening.

Good Points: Very convenient location in the centre of Birmingham with ideal access to shops, restaurants, nightlife and New St station
Bad Points: The only room available when we arrived was in the smoking area even though we had asked for non-smoking; one of the two lifts was out of order so there were long waits at times to use the other.
Further Comments: The hotel was undergoing refurbishment when we stayed and this was very evident with half decorated walls etc. Also the lift was out of order which was a bit of an inconvenience. I am sure that once these issues are resolved it would be a very nice hotel to stay in. The staff were friendly and down to earth which was good to see. The check in and out was quick and straight forward although I hadn't realised from booking online that I would have to pay when I arrived - I assumed the card number I gave online would have already been used for payment.

Good Points: it was in the city center

Further Comments: the curtian shower was dirty ,, the tolit in my daughters room was dirty ...there was stains on the carpet in my room , the only good thing was it was in the city center ,,and the breakfast wasnt to bad ..the staff were friendly,, the rooms are begging for a make over

Good Points: i have to say i stayed in the hotel before about 3 years ago it has improved staff at desk one girl in question was very nice rooms were cleaned daily with clean towels and sheets on the bed one problem was only 1 lift was working but we were told there was improvements been made. food was excellent i would gladley reconmend this hotel to friends for a quit break id like to take this chance to thank the staff for their friendly manner and i will stay again

Further Comments: i enjoyed my stay rooms were cleaned daily with fresh sheetsand towels breakfast was great and plenty of it staff were very helpfull and as i stayed here before i knew what it was like i will stay again thank you

Good Points: The room was a good size with plenty of table space and access to the internet, which was needed

Further Comments: Fair no frills accommodation. Notices saying hotel being re-furbished - obviously not our floor or reception

Good Points: the view from the room across the city was spectacular at night
Bad Points: the room was very dated, from the plug sockets, tv and decor to the bathroom, lumpy bed and damaged furniture.
Further Comments: although the view from the room was very nice as i said, for the amount that i paid for the room i had expected a much higher standard. for example, i have recently stayed in the etap and ibis hotels and had a much more pleasent experience, they were modern and comfortable and a fraction of the cost.

Bad Points: room was in need of decorating.draughty windows.uncomfortable bed.lifts only 1 in service,at least 20min wait for lift if lucky.hotel staff ill informed.
Further Comments: location of hotel excellant.accommodation terrible.staff attitude terrible,no way helpful to guests,no bar service request for bar service had to be made at reception (3 people managing reception)wait 15-20mins for drinks.all guests complaning

Good Points: Very central to the Bull Ring and Palisades shopping area of Birmingham and close to the New Street train station - very easily accessible. Staff very helpful and friendly
Bad Points: Only one elevator servicing all floors so had a bit of a wait when travelling up and down to room.
Further Comments: I have stayed before at this hotel so I knew where I was going. It is extremely accessible by rail from International airport and very close to one of the main shopping areas of Birmingham. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is very good. I would recomend this hotel and would stay here again myself.

Bad Points: very dated and in desperate need of redecorating and updating. First room we were allocated was dirty and smoky.
Further Comments: Convenient hotel at a good price but felt very old and worn.

Bad Points: very noisy, other guests not very considerate banging doors, setting off fire alarms and generaaly being disruptive
Further Comments: had we have known it was a noisy hotel we would not have booked it

Bad Points: I don't know where to start - dodgy lifts,half drunk beer glasses in the dirty,unkempt corridors,dust covered chairs in the rooms and curtains that haven't seen a wash in years to name but a few.!
Further Comments: Reception was inadequate in size and did not feel secure with questionable characters hanging around the main door. In view of this very poor accomodation the staff were very welcoming and quite professional.!

Good Points: The hotel was very centrally located and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Further Comments: I cannot think of anything. Even though we had a few small problems with one of the rooms we still were very satisfyed because the staff were on the ball and looked after us very well. This I would once again like to thank them for. They can all take a bow.
