Good Points: central location, clean and tidy. Good breakfast

Good Points: Excellent value for money.
Bad Points: Nothing about the place, but on line booking caused a mix-up with a partial double booking and our friends having to stay at another hotel.
Further Comments: Very convenient for city centre (a few minutes walk from Waverley Station and Princes Street) but in a quiet location. Clean and comfortable room with adequate bathroom. Very good value with full Scottish breakfast included. Very friendly reception and helpful service.

Further Comments: Within easy walking distance of city centre. Good quality food served. Pleasant staff.

Bad Points: size of room ( no 1 )meant to be a double,too small for a single...not even room for a bedside table ! Other rooms looked a lot bigger and better though.

Bad Points: - The shower did not work properly. - The heating was not always on. - Our room was very small.

Bad Points: Sloping ceilings in the bedroom, erratic shower. No shaver point in the bathroom.
Further Comments: Overall a good stay, with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings.

Further Comments: We have stayed at the Broughton Hotel on a number of occasions, usually to visit the theatre, and have always found it to be pleasant. The new owners have a friendly and relaxed attitude, which makes for a very good experience overall. We also appreciated not having to place our breakfast order the night before.

Good Points: Nice large room. Very quiet and comfortable beds
Bad Points: The shower had 2 temperatures Cold and Scalding. Might need some work on the plumbing
Further Comments: Other than the shower problems it was an excellent hotel. Very close to Princes Street and restaraunts in the area

Good Points: clean and tidy. Quiet area to stay at.
Further Comments: The hotel was close to everywhere we wanted to be. Shops, bars, restaurants and only 10 minutes walk from train station. It was quiet and ensured a good nights sleep. The breakfast was very good. A good base to stay to get out and about if you want to explore the city. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good Points: It was situated in a quiet street, was secure, especially as we were two women traveling for the first time to Edinburgh. The hotel room was clean. Breakfast was swift and fresh and adequate, the hostess charming. We would definitely recomment this hotel.

Good Points: The location is great. Close to the main street and shopping area and located on a quiet street.
Bad Points: Small rooms, very small bathroom.
Further Comments: The stay was all right, but the rooms are on the small side for two people. Good for one night stay, but not for several nights. But the host Fiona is excellent!:)) Very service minded and cooks like a chef:))

Good Points: The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is centrally located so visitors do not have far to walk to shops, sight-seeing, excursions, train and bus station etc. A good variety of eating places can be found close by also.
Further Comments: My daughter and I were extremely comfortable. I would say the hotel provides basic facilities, but then, as this was an extremely short stay for us, it was all that we required. We were made very welcome and would definitely like to stay again.
