Good Points: The room was very large and the beds were very comfortable. Excellent shower, quite a lot of storage space, and brilliant views.
Bad Points: It didn't seem possible to turn the heated towel rail off in the bathroom so the bathroom got very hot, and the windows were open when we arrived and were very difficult to close, however these were the only negative points.

Good Points: That there was just enough in terms of facilities - keeping the cost lower.
Bad Points: Breakfast was a bit luck lustre - a fish option would be nice.
Further Comments: Basic but comfortable and clean - ideal for a short break.

Good Points: The room was spacious for a city center hotel.
Bad Points: The only critism would be that the shower was poor.
Further Comments: We are an ordinary working class couple who value good value for money and this hotel certainly fit the bill. The room was clean and more than adequate. It was central for the attractions and bars etc. The bath water was boiling hot.A good hearty breakfast and pleasant staff. Would deffo use this hotel again. Thanks.

Good Points: Close proximity to train station and the heart of city
Bad Points: Slightly run down although spotless clean and friendly staff. Noise insulation could improve with double glazing.
Further Comments: I went up to Edinburgh for a symposium an for overnight stay, it suits me really well.

Good Points: The room was very homely and comfortable, and excellent value for money - more than I expected!
Bad Points: I was unable to turn the radiator off (but slept with the window open without any inconvenience).
Further Comments: The price of ᅢツᅡᆪ26 per night for a double room with en suite shower room and breakfast was excellent, especially given the hotel's proximity to Edinburgh Waverley Station (less than 10 minute walk away) and the rest of the city. Staff were friendly and accommodating, holding my suitcase after I checked out, so I could enjoy the city without hassle.

Good Points: Conveniently sited to access the conference facility
Bad Points: looking out on the rather tatty back yard
Further Comments: Generally speaking the hotel provided every facility for which we could have wished. The two main areas which might have beeen improved were: 1. The TV in the room could have had more channels in this day and age. 2. We might have been offered a choice of view from the bedroom window. Otherwise a very comfortable stay and perfectly adequate for our needs.

Good Points: Comfortable, warm, cheap
Bad Points: En-suite had no mat for stepping onto when getting out of the shower, so stepping onto a slippery tiled floor, potentially dangerous. Heated towel rail did not work, so nowhere to dry towels. TV, kettle and vanity mirror were all placed on the window sill and so behind the window curtain. Closing the curtain, unless it was deliberately pushed behind these items, meant they were unavailable. Not much choice of food at breakfast.
Further Comments: Clearly the price charged here is what makes it attractive. The whole place has a somewhat tired feel; a good clean, some fresh paint and necessary repairs would make it even more attractive. Certainly, it is very well-placed for the centre of Edinburgh, approximately 15 minutes walk from Waverley Station and Princes Street, with a number of restaurants very close. If you don't mind the slightly jaded aspect of the actual hotel this is a good place to stay.

Good Points: Room was adequate for overnight stay.
Bad Points: Could have done with another socket in the room for hairdryer/charger. Had to lean behind unit and television to remove plug for kettle and insert hairdryer plug.
Further Comments: Suited my needs for overnight stay but no longer. Breakfast was very limited.
