Further Comments: This is the third time we've stayed at the Falcon hotel in the last year. Everything about the hotel is wonderful from the rooms, to the evening and breakfast menu's. Clean and friendly atmosphere and a great selection of quality wines. We'll definately be going back!

Good Points: Interesting history of hotel and character
Bad Points: some problems with heating and staffing levels
Further Comments: some problems had occurred before our arrival. Would have liked to have known about them.

Bad Points: Water from the hand basin came up into the bath. Lager in the bar was flat. Service at breakfast a bit slow,
Further Comments: A hotel full of character. The bedroom was very clean, especially the bed linen. Some problem with the plumbing. Do not stay here if you want a quick getaway in the morning!

Good Points: Friendly, relaxed, efficient, characterful
Further Comments: A friendly, distinctive hotel, easy to find, with a relaxed feel. Informative hosts, keen to make us feel welcome. Unable to comment on the evening food, but the breakfast was fine.

Bad Points: Pathetic lighting (energy saving bulbs) preventing reading in the room after 'dark'. Heating - until extra heater supplied.
Further Comments: Nothing - We like an element of surprise. The big surprise was the fact that the head chef was ill. The substitutes performed quite well. Web Discounts could possibly have been supplied for longer stays.

Bad Points: the smell of cooked food in the upstairs corridors.

Good Points: Hotel was very clean, comfortable and relaxed. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. General feeling very relaxed and the building itself was charming and different.
Bad Points: Nothing really, bathroom decor perhaps a bit tired but very clean and the towels and linen very clean also.
Further Comments: We really enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to stay in such an old and charming building. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and it was lovely to come across such a lovely quiet place that was so different and not like some of the large chain hotels. We would definitely stay again.

Good Points: Gourmet cuisine at sensible prices, genuine personal attention, hotel full of history and character. Bake their own bread - touches like these are very unusual and most welcome.
