Pratt's Hotel near Bath: Bath Hotels

Good Points: easy walking to both train station and town centre. Historic building. Relaxing reading rooms. Good professional staff.
Bad Points: only single glazed windows. seagulls sometimes noisy outside

Further Comments: Pratt's Hotel feels roomy and friendly. It felt a more expensive hotel than it was. We really enjoyed staying there and the location is absolutely brilliant. It is about 1 minute from Poultney Bridge and 5 mins from all of the town centre. The only downside of this is that there is no car park - so if you stay several days - beware! The scroungers of Bath council will sting you for loads of money in the car park directly opposite (if I remember rightly about ￂﾣ10 - 12 per weekday and ￂﾣ4 for Sundays. (AND they charge on Bank Holidays!). This is not the fault of the Hotel of course. The only thing which I would perhaps suggest is that they could possibly consider getting some kind of deal with the Council to have car park permits which may work out a bit cheaper. They may have already looked into this already! Nonetheless - if you want to stay in the town centre - this is a great hotel and we recommend it highly.

Further Comments: Comfortable spacious room in a roomy hotel. The staff are helpfull the lounges and bar traditional and cosy. Restaurant is very good though can lack atmosphere at quiet times. Its position is ideal for train, bus or car (pay and display, free overnight).

Bad Points: Third floor room, sloping ceilings and rather tired decoration.
Further Comments: Staff were very helpful and generally the hotel was clean and comfortable. Close to railway station and a good base for visiting Bath.
