Manor Hotel near Yeovil: Yeovil Hotels

Good Points: location, old world charm of the building
Bad Points: faded carpets, threadbare seating in the bar, food was at best average, dirty windows in room, bathroom curtain needed changing (smelly)
Further Comments: On the upside the satff were friendly, attentive, helpfull and approachable, however for the money poor value, entrance to annex was near obstructed by numerous bags of dirty linen awaiting pick up (which remained from the evenining of check in to the next morning. Food can be dscribed as reasonable pub food (frozen chips, pale looking grilled hard tomato, etc but the steak was good). Even though my company will pay the bill, at say ￂﾣ35 a night I would have been satisfied, wont be staying there again

Good Points: Nice hotel, brilliant location, excellent food & friendly staff
Bad Points: Old building so creaking floors were distracting. Single bed was small and no hot water in shower!
Further Comments: I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel again, it has character and style, but do expect other people moving around to disturb you - it's an old building. Breakfast was enough to set you up for the day. Make sure you get a parking pass from reception as the hotel is close enough to the town centre for them to have pay & display parking for non-residents.

Good Points: Well situated, nice place
Further Comments: Very well situated near the centre of Yeovil, plenty of parking too. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Good Points: The Reception and Bar Staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was good.
Bad Points: Our room was not cleaned properly; I found dust, hairgrips and an empty bottle of Coca Cola in the room that was supposed to have just been cleaned for us to check in to (the cleaner said they were under staffed and she didn't have time to do it properly!)
Further Comments: For the price we paid, we expected better accommodation. The Manor House was obviously a very nice building, but now needs some TLC both externally and internally to bring it back up to standard. The reception, restaurant and bar was clean and the staff were very nice. The breakfasts were very good and nice and hot. The one evening meal we had in the Hotel (with 4 other friends of ours) was very good and so was the service.

Further Comments: I always stay at The Manor Hotel when visiting Yeovil. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The local Manager is a nice gentleman.

Good Points: The room was clean and large. Loved the 4 poster.
Bad Points: Food
Further Comments: Food - it was appalling both at breakfast and dinner. Reheated smash at dinner, tough lamb and shredded cabbage salad. Yuk. The breakfast was little different with reheated potatoes. If I had known how bad the food was, I would have chosen another hotel. It was a shame as the service from the hotel staff was excellent and friendly and the room lovely.

Good Points: Good central location, two minutes from the town centre. Lovely old building and light airy breakfast area overlooking a garden.
Further Comments: The hotel itself was fine, but the town was dull.
