Further Comments: I thought for ￃﾂￂﾣ49.50 it was excellent value for money. Really liked the Black Swan pub & leisure facilities. Ashbourne overall is a really nice place. Would stay at this hotel again and will recommend to friends & family.

Good Points: helpfullness and friendliness of staff
Bad Points: Bathroom desperate for a makeover! Plastic mug in bathroom and would have preferred glass - plus more toilet paper please.
Further Comments: Food let the hotel down - it seemed to be microwaved and/or fried, which was disappointing. No fresh coffee available in restaurant, only out of a machine. However, my daughter wanted to eat the bar food in the restaurant and that flexibility was appreciated. The staff in the restaurant were helpful and pleasant.

Further Comments: For the price we paid, everything was fine. The black sheep bar had a nice atmosphere and served good food, (and main courses were only about ￃﾂￂﾣ7.) The quality of the hot buffet at breakfast time was not the best. Very helpful staff. Recommended.

Good Points: I would suggest that booking on line, greatly improves the burden of arranging any travel arrangements. From my recent experience, this was faultless.

Further Comments: Large or invalid guests would struggle with the bathroom facilities provided in the room in which we stayed.

Good Points: clean local to where we wanted to be based
Bad Points: bathroom very small and crammed in no room to sit on toilet comfortably, and 2 poor nights sleep due to a constant droning.Also the restaurant was closed friday night and no one available for menu saturday night so ate in the bar
Further Comments: this hotel was a good standard for the price paid, unfortunately we had to very poor nights sleep as there was a constant droning noise all night, which is the only real reason will would not go back to this hotel.so if your a heavy sleeper it could be ok

Further Comments: I chose the hotel for location and the leisure pool The pool could have been warmer, the changing facility was one cubicle and I had to pay a pound a day to use the pool which I thought was silly The bar in the hotel 'The Black Sheep' wasn't open The evening meals were excellent It would have been useful to have known to pick up sunday paper from reception

Good Points: Very clean and comfortable. Warm and well planned. Excellent bathroom and shower.
Further Comments: I was very impressed with the hotel, the staff and the standards. It was incredible value for money. A nice leisure centre and I swam for two hours in the pool quite happily. I did not eat in the hotel because of dietary reasons but liked the look of the menu which was left in the room.

Bad Points: The bathroom, although spotlessly clean, needed renovation. Suite needed to be replaced.

Good Points: The pool and sauna area (steam room broken)
Bad Points: the bathroom extreemly tiny you could not open the door fully without hitting the sink and you felt confined when sitting on the toilet as you were encased by the bath (shower curtain dangling in your face) and the side of the sink. it was also a very damp bathroom (Mould) and not particularly clean.
Further Comments: The staff were very helpful, friendly and informative, the accomodation only just satisfactory but other aspect around the hotel very good ie food and amenities.

Good Points: Ideally located for our needs.
Bad Points: The room was basic. The bathroom would benefit from an update. Nobody likes to see mould around the bath and on the tiles; this was probably due to no ventilation.
Further Comments: The hotel was convenient for our stay in Asbourn. For those visiting the surrounding area it would make an ideal base. Unfortunately we did not get time to visit what looked like a very nice swimming pool. Room was small and basic. Bathroom a little tired. Public areas were of a higher spec and very comfortable. Good breakfast.

Bad Points: The bathroom was a complete letdown. The bathroom size, suite, tiles and fittings should not be acceptable in this day and age!!!!
Further Comments: Having worked in a hotel myself for 15 years, due to the fact the hotel was not fully booked I would have expected to be allocated a much better standard of room especially as this was our first visit and as we know first impressions in this industry are everything. Everything else in the hotel was great, the menu & quality of bar food/breakfast was excellent, the layout and atmosphere was lovely and the price of drinks etc was fair. For the next question our answer would be a definate yes if the rooms (especially bathrooms!!!) were updated!!!
