Good Points: The bedroom,bathroom and how clean it was, breakfast, the weekend price offer, the quietness,the proximity to the town.
Bad Points: The darkness of the entrance lobby and the blandness of the reception desk. Not really suitable for chidren, unless out all day, as there wasn't anything for them to do.
Further Comments: The hotel was within walking distance to the town. It was very clean and fresh and the rooms were spacious and very pleasantly decorated. The breakfast was superb and the staff were polite and attentive but not pushy. The thing we noticed the most was how quiet it was. You were not disturbed by the people in other rooms or their presence in the corridors, so sleeping was not a problem at all.We liked the dark mood of the corridors which probably influenced the amount of sound people made as they moved about. There was plenty of parking which was close and level with the lobby. Just a couple of points that might improve first impressions. We think that the automatic gate into the car park could do with an entrance sign and instructions on how to enter. There is a need for automatic doors to the lobby to ease entry and exit for disabled or heavily laden visitors. The entrance was a little dark and in need or more lighting.The reception desk seemed too closed in and a bit uninviting, more like a big ticket booth. We felt the price of the 'weekend special' was good but feel that we wouldn't want to pay any more than that for a regular stay.The things we would change are only cosmetic and of our own opinion. Thankyou very much for a pleasant stay.

Further Comments: Getting lost in Chelmsford is very easy. The sign-posts are barely adequate, however a call to the hotel answered by an extremely helpful member of staff got us there in the end. Arriving in a torrential downpour (lasting throughout our stay) the reception staff were warm, friendly and with good humour helped us to our room an in to better moods. The stay at the hotel was a little ray of sunshine on an extremely damp weekend. Thank you.

Good Points: The hotel was clean and well maintained and the breakfast freshly cooked.
Bad Points: The room was stuffy and the air conditioning did not seem to be very effective. The member of staff on duty at the reception desk was very brisk not at all welcoming.
Further Comments: The hotel was conveniently located and the parking was good The modern decor was not to my taste and the corridors were poorly lit with eerie red strip lighting. No public lift so we had to carry heavy suit cases upstairs. However, the room was spacious and well equipped.

Further Comments: The hotel is modern and appointed to a high standard. The staff were generally helpful and attentive. The area around the hotel may not be particulaly attractive and although there is a road and railway nearby we didn't have any noise issues during our stay.
