Good Points: cosy fireplaces
Bad Points: the whole lobby (very nice) smelt of smoke from the previous night - the bar area was directly opposite reception.
Further Comments: I had a wonderful facial in the spa. The bedrooms were acceptable but the bathrooms were very dated. The staff were excellent and the lounge area was lovely but smelt of smoke and therefore felt like the morning after the night before!

Good Points: The hotel both outside and in, is of a very grand nature of a bygone era, with modern facilities to please all. The numerous open fires are a thing of beauty these days.
Bad Points: The hotel should examine its alcohol pricing policy, as this is definately an area where the customer is being abused !
Further Comments: A beautiful place, in beautiful surroundings that I would recommend, and indeed use again.

Good Points: The hotel both outside and in, is of a very grand nature of a bygone era, with modern facilities to please all. The numerous open fires are a thing of beauty these days.

Good Points: The hotel was really nice and the facilities were good. However we checked out 1 night early as we could not stay another night in the bed. The bed was the most unfortable bed we have ever slept in, the hardest and the pillows were terrible. We were not paying another ￂﾣ130 to get another bad sleep.
Bad Points: The could definately improve on their beds and pillows.
Further Comments: A lovelt hotel as said above, however this was extremley let down badly with the bed and pillows making it impossible for my husbacd and I to get a good night sleep.

Good Points: The hotel was really nice and the facilities were good. However we checked out 1 night early as we could not stay another night in the bed. The bed was the most unfortable bed we have ever slept in, the hardest and the pillows were terrible. We were not paying another ﾣ130 to get another bad sleep.

Good Points: The grandeur of the building was amazing with glorious log burning fires and red carpets on entry to the hotel.
Bad Points: Some room could do with modernisation, and perhaps some light entertainment ie Piano player
Further Comments: Your entry to the hotel will be along a gorgeous country road until you approach the grandeur of what is Ardoe House. The hotel itself is somewhat set in the past and follows more of a classic feel, rather than a modern comtempory. The buring logs fires on entry to the hotel and in the dinning room will no doubt charm you, and all the more better if your choose a romantic weekend. The food is exception, but of course at ﾣ30 a head, so it better be. The rooms are a little bit stuck in the past, with floral wallpaper, and old fashioned dressing tables, but hopefully you won't be spending to much time in your room anyway. There is no evening entertainment, although there are two bars serving extortionate drinks ie Two southern comfort and coke ﾣ10.50

The hotels leisure facilites are fantastic although and a great reason for staying here. You will no doubt enjoy your stay but i wouldn't recommend anymore than two nights, by the third you could be climbing the walls with boredom.

Further Comments: room was not prepared on arrival. a complimenatry cup of tea would have been a nice gesture as i had driven 12hrs to get there. staff uniforms looked a bit tatty for the standard of the hotel. the spa area was good but too many rules and age limits on my 12 yr old daughter. not allowed in spa etc. only allowed to swim on one side of the pool.
