Bad Points: Shower was clearly leaking into room due to damp patch in carpet which was starting to smell. ￂﾣ7.50 for cheese and biscuits seemed rather expensive given that I received six grapes, three crackers and three small pieces of cheedar and one piece of Brie
Further Comments: Good, friendly staff. Had I not been so hungry I would have asked for a Duty Manager. That siad I would stay at hotel again

Good Points: Excellent staff & general cleanliness of the hotel
Bad Points: Took 10 minutes to work out how the lights in the room worked. possibly could have been informed at the check-in desk about this.

Bad Points: Food was disappointing. Ordered room service steak medium rare but it was thin, tough and overcooked. Accompanying fried potatoes were soggy. Breakfast: selection of cheese and selection of charcuterie was very disappointing - a few slices of cheddar and some salami. Room was OK but a bit tired and shabby. The satellite channels were all out of order.
Further Comments: Probably just caught it on a bad day and I'm sure they would have put it right if I'd had the energy to complain.

Good Points: The food and staff.
Bad Points: No satelight signal received on my room television
Further Comments: As a resident without a car, five days was a long time to be in this isolated area. It would have been nice to have known beforehand that even a simple village shop would not be available and I could have brought magazines and other nic nacs with me.

Good Points: Nice and quiet place with SPA facilities available at the hotel
Bad Points: The SPA fasilities did not wotk properly, like the sauna

Further Comments: We stayed at Ardoe House for a couple of days over the bank holiday weekend. Having arrived there, we saw that two weddings were underway. Initially fearful of not getting a good nights sleep, we were pleasantly surprised by the complete silence by the time we got to our room. The staff were very friendly and chatty and the food was excellent. We also used the leisure facilities at the hotel, which were all in good order. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit north east Scotland.

Bad Points: Consistency of the room servicing was poor
Further Comments: The room was adequately furnished, but the heater was inefficient and eventually packed up after 4 days. The tv was too low down making it impossible to lie on the bed and watch TV at the same time. A hotel of this calibre should provide a better experience when it comes to providing additional towels etc when coming in to turn down the beds. The little touches that you normally expect from this class of hotel were missing. Lastly--the food was way too expensive--we simply couldn't afford to eat in the hotel--the one dinner we did have was nice, but just too dear. We didn't even contemplate eating breakfast at the hotel at 16 UKP per head.
