Good Points: The four poster bed was amazing - incredibly comfortable and toasty warm!! Tea making facilities were adequate and both the bath and shower were in good working order. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating, polite and helpful, and the English Breakfast was lovely, although on the Sunday we decided we preferred to sleep in than get up for breakfast!!
Bad Points: No lift, which meant carrying luggage up winding staircase. Staff did offer to help with luggage though. Not very well signposted - had to find our way to breakfast by the smell of cooking bacon!! The TV in the bedroom was very small!

Good Points: The George Hotel is run by very cordial and accommodating people. They could not have been more helpful.
Bad Points: Overheated room.

Good Points: There were many good features to the accommodation but some were poorly maintained.

Good Points: Location in the centre of town
Bad Points: Appeared to need a good update - decor a bit tatty. No toiletries in the bathroom - broken equipment in the bathroom.
Further Comments: I would have liked to have been informed that it was basic accomodation with a very basic english breakfast with no frills. Price did not reflect this. But saying all that it was clean and friendly and suited our purpose for the weekend.

Good Points: The view of Battle abbey. Hotel well located, convenient car park, easy to find.
Bad Points: The room was very small, stifling hot, outdated furniture. No fitted shower. It is in serious need of refurbishment. The staff serving breakfast lacked organisation skills.
Further Comments: It would have been useful to view the room online before booking.

Good Points: The location & parking
Bad Points: Hotel is very tired, in need of a refurbishment. EVerything creaked including the beds. There was no hot water, just luke warm. My father had to boil the kettle to warm up their bath and to shave. Bed side light was no where near the bed.
Further Comments: Very expensive for what it was. A local B&B would have been better value. I stayed there 18 months ago and it has good downhill since then. It is really sad that what should be a charming and quaint old hotel, full of history, just appears to be run down and shabby. It would be a shame to see it disappear, but I can honestly say I wouldn't stay again. Sorry.

Good Points: Comfortable bed and large room. Good portion of breakfast and freshly made
Bad Points: Only two hand towels provided and the window was not able to close so you could hear noise from outside.
Further Comments: More pictures of the room would have been good. I would have liked to know that it was a noisy room due to the window not up to standard.
