| Good Points: staff were very good, breakfast service 1st class |
| Bad Points: noisy, and the room was a bit dated read that some work had been done
earlier in the year but you couldn't see if anything had been done. overcrouded parking no spaces had too park in disabled space, which I don't do normally. |
| Further Comments: I had problems with 3rd party who was unable to come with us staff very helpfull in changing room but would have been nice to have been asked about a room overlooking the racecourse.
stairs not very wide would have had trouble with big cases, getting to room was like a maize.I'm going next year but I think I'll be looking for another Hotel.sorry. |

| Good Points: the locality, within walking distance of city |
| Bad Points: breakfast was poor |
| Further Comments: the location of the hotel was good in relation to the distance from the city centre, the room was adequate and clean and tidy. The staff were cheerful and helpful at all times. The breakfast was cold and therefore poor but overall our one night stay was enjoyable |

| Good Points: The friendliness of the staff and their helpfulness impressed me. In particular our waitress was friendliness itself and gave excellent service without being overly attentive. The evening meal was excellent. |
| Bad Points: The room was clean but tired, it had seen a lot of mileage and it showed. I thought it expensive for what we got. |
| Further Comments: We enjoyed the atmosphere created by the staff but thought the room itself expensive, however this may have been a product of a busy time in York. We were surprised by how easy it was to walk into the centre of the city, and enjoyed our stay, but would look for a cheaper room next time. |

| Good Points: the accommodation was clean and tidy and the staff friendly and helpful |
| Bad Points: Although the room was adequate it possibly could do with updating |
| Further Comments: This was a friendly hotel with helpful staff. The room was adequate but perhaps in need of updating, but it was clean and tidy. The reception, restaurant and bar areas have been very nicely modernised. The food was excellent and well priced. I only stayed the one night but found it to be a pleasant experience and very good value for money and ideally positioned for the town centre, which was within walking distance (about 15 minutes). The local bus service was also right outside the hotel. |

| Good Points: It seemed quite plesent on appearance. |
| Bad Points: it was very much in need of an update on interior in most areas of the hotel. |
| Further Comments: The walking distant into York city Centre as some people may not be able to walk the distant it is, although there is a bus service outside the hotel. The interior of the hotel rooms is in much need of updating. I also thougtht the hotel was in much need of a very good clean. |

| Good Points: staff, facilities |
| Bad Points: the shower! |
| Further Comments: Ideal for an overnight stay although facilities were very basic. The shower was poor, just got a trickle so couldn't wash! But staff very helpful. Although you could get changed in the toilets, the coach house(which we had to stay in) wasn't ideal if you wanted a swim or to go in the sauna. Also, would describe Newtinton as more of a B & B rather than a hotel. Would recommend the Newtington to friends but for a short stay. |

| Good Points: LOVELY LARGE ROOM, VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. |
| Further Comments: HAVING READ SOME FAIRLY NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF THE HOTEL ON THE INTERNET I WAS A BIT WARY. HOWEVER, AFTER OUR STAY WE WERE GENERALLY VERY HAPPY WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE HOTEL. THE ROOM WAS AN EXCELLENT SIZE, THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT. THE LOCATION WAS SPOT ON AND THE AMPLE PARKING A REAL HELP.I CAN ONLY SURMISE THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE VERY HARD TO PLEASE!! I WOULD CERTAINLY STAY AGAIN IF OUR EXPERIENCE WAS REPEATED. |

|
| Good Points: THE SPACIOUSNESS, CLEANLINESS AND INDIVIDUALITY OF THE ROOM. |
| Further Comments: DELIGHTED TO FIND THAT WE HAD BEEN ALLOCATED A NON-SMOKING ROOM.
THOROUGHLY APPROVED OF THE USE OF WHITE BEDLINED, TOWELS AND NAPERY THROUGHOUT THE HOTEL.
ALL MEMBERS OF STAFF WE CAME INTO TOUCH WITH WERE MOST FRIENDLY, HELPFUL AND ACCOMMODATING.
OUR VISIT ON THIS OCCASION WAS UNFORTUNATELY TOO SHORT.
WE UNDERSTAND THE HOTEL IS TO BE REFURBISHED SHORTLY SO WE SHALL RETURN TO EXPERIENCE THE END RESULT.
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL VISIT. |
