Good Points: the hotel was very well presented, clean and run by very hospitable owners who were very friendly and helpful.
Bad Points: it's only a small consideration but a slightly longer period of time for breakfast would have been of benefit.
Further Comments: This hotel is excellent and will certainly be re-visited next year when we return for the races. From my point of view there is no need to look for alternative accommodation as this one has everything. It is very well located, just a short taxi ride into the heart of the city and provided us with an excellent breakfast, particularly the fresh fruit cocktail.

Good Points: We loved the room, and the staff was so friendly!
Bad Points: Perhaps directions on how to use the radiators! We arrived late at night, and we didn't want to bother the family with how to turn on the heat. We aren't used to this sort of heat, so it would have been great to see some directions instead of aimlessly using it.
Further Comments: I would recommend this place to anyone staying in York. While it's a bit far from the city centre, it was a fair walk and was worth it. The breakfast was wonderful!

Good Points: Owners were very helpful and friendly. Home was very well maintained and charming. After cramped quarters in London, we were exceptionally pleased with how spacious our triple room was. Especially enjoyed great coffee and fruit salad at breakfast. Easy to walk to town center from B & B.
Further Comments: This is a quaint and charming Bed and Breakfast with friendly, helpful owners. The triple room was quite spacious. Great coffee and a wonderful fruit salad made the breakfast memorable. For me, the location near a fairly busy street did cause some problems with sleeping in the early morning hours. However, this may be more because of the quietness of which I'm accustomed, as our 20-year-old son who lives in Chicago was not bothered by street noise at all. The location was good with our being able to easily walk to the Town Center from the B & B.

Good Points: clean and friendly
Bad Points: no evening dining facilities
Further Comments: small and friendly family run business. Was very clean, warm and we had quite a spacious room. The only downside is that evening dinner is not served, so u have to walk into town but only takes 15-20mins

Good Points: Cleanl, friendly & good facilities and food
Bad Points: Didn't sleep too well, pillows hard and the bed not big enough for us
Further Comments: Our stay was at the beginning of December and the Xmas decorations were all up, everything was warm and inviting and we got into the Christmas spirit for our shopping trip in York. Cleanliness is high on our list of priorities and the standard of cleanliness at this hotel was very good. There were plenty of complimentary items in the bathroom and the room itself was attractive and comfortable. The owner and staff were friendly, helpful and polite. If they had a room with a kingsize bed we would probably return for antoher stay. Excellent breakfast, a most enjoyable weekend!

Good Points: Friendly, clean accommodation and conveniently located for the city and surrounding areas
Further Comments: We were just on a short visit to York and would have liked to have known more about local restaurants and their opening hours as we wasted quite a lot of time searching for suitable outlets. The hotel was ideally located for visits to both the city and nearby tourist spots eg the moors, dales and stately homes. We would certainly return to this hotel on any spring/summer visits we may make in the future.

Good Points: ample parking, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, very comfortable.
| Further Comments: The buses (42 & 415) run regularly from main street outside of the Hotel into York town center.
Parking in main town center is a waste of time & expensive. |

Good Points: The owners were quite lovely, and the Television was beautiful... as we'd been deprived for an extended period
Bad Points: The price was a little steep...but that's just becuase our dollar is so weak compared to the pound...it was reasonable in pounds.
Further Comments: You can't eat in the room...supper that is, but you can order food in. The owners have a dog, and a small family, all of whom are quite charming. The showers are clean, the bathroom is nice...all rooms are ensuite. Breakfast is a feast in the morning, so be sure that you prepare for it and are hungry. And you will want a taxi to get there is you have any luggage whatsoever, we walked and regreted it, as it can be quite the trek. It is worth it, however.
