| Good Points: The 'suite' rooms whilst not really living up to the name, were however very convenient with a small baby as she could sleep in one section while we stayed up with lights on in the other. Location very handy for central York. |
| Bad Points: Hotel and room both rather tatty and details not attended to like scuffed walls, only 1 teabag in the room tea/coffee tray and no pillow cases on the pillows. |
| Further Comments: The hotel and the suite rooms could be really fantastic but everything looks rather neglected. Details are overlooked. The bathroom was a horrible grey suite and tiles and really needs updating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice enough. Overall I think this hotel needs quite a lot of investment and a bit of a makeover. I would not stay there again as I think you can get a lot more for your money elsewhere. |

| Good Points: We were allowed to park car in hotel car park prior to check in. Breakfast was outstanding. The location ( 5-10 mins fromc ity on one road) |
| Bad Points: Noise of slamming doors and from the road. |
| Further Comments: Fine and nothing wrong with the hotel at all, only problem was until 1am, the doors kept slamming as they shut.
The location is excellent, only being 10 mins from town, however you do pay for this witht he noise from the main road.
Staff were very friendly. |

| Good Points: Location was very good and within 5 minutes walk from town centre |
| Further Comments: We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel or B&B for a couple of days.
This hotel was very reasonable and included breakfast which was cheaper than most room only deals.
The location was as described and only a short 5 minute walk to the centre.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed an extra night and were relocated to a much more expensive room for the same price (VG Service)
For the price and location i would recommend this hotel and would book this hotel when visiting York
It was exactly what we were looking for. |

| Good Points: The accomodation was clean and totally up to standard |
| Further Comments: The hotel was easily found and was not an excessive or expensive taxi journey from York railway station and was within easy walking distance from the city centre and all amenities. The standards were excellent complimented by friendly and helpful staff. Having stayed two nights the breakfasts provided were very good. We had absolutely no complaints whatsoever and would recommend this hotel to accomodate visitors to York. |

| Good Points: Close to York City Centre, lovely walk by the river to get there. |
| Bad Points: Only complaint was that the room was cold, then when we asked for the heating to be put on it was only done so for a short period of time. Its not pleasant getting out of bed when its cold. |
| Further Comments: A good Indian restaurant two minutes up the road. Very popular so book the night before. Plenty of other restaurants also within a short walking distance. |

| Good Points: location,friendly staff,food |
| Bad Points: Room and en-suite looked a bit dated and tired |
| Further Comments: This was our second stay at the hotel so we knew what to expect. Easy to find and with parking and a ten minute walk to the city center what more could you need!
The room was clean and tidy but could do with a lick of paint. Would recommmend eating in either the restaurant or cellar bar, the meals we had were delicious! Compliments to the chef!!
If we get a chance will definately be back again. |
