Good Points: Friendly staff, comfy bed, spacious room, private car park, central location
Bad Points: Some parts of the room - particularly the bathroom and seperate wc and cloakroom area - needed updating/re-decorating. The tv had very limited channels and the room was poorly lit having only dim lamps and no central light
Further Comments: An impressive hotel standing in it's own grounds with an excellent car park and centrally located. Quite tricky to find because of the one way system. Friendly and helpful staff. The public areas of the hotel were very clean and modern but areas of the room require updating (see above)and the corridors were very drab and unwelcoming. Given the number of hotels in York there is much competition so for the price paid I would probably try a different hotel next time.

Good Points: Everywhere was spotless. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a large sofa to relax on.
Bad Points: The swimming pool was a bit like a goldfish bowl, small, not very deep and viewed by others.
Further Comments: On site parking at no extra cost. Parked up and didn't need the car all weekend, just a short walk into York centre for shops, restaurants, pubs and museums.

Good Points: very peaceful location and with-in easy walking distance to the city centre.good quality bathroom.
Bad Points: seperate wc with out a wash basin. Bed was very squeeky when sat on.
Further Comments: lovely week end,enjoyed the stay at your hotel,just too many children over this easter week end.

Bad Points: Service at dinner was attrocious
Further Comments: Dinner on Saturday night consisted of family hot buffet 6 till 8 then this choice + a la carte afrer 8. Buffet menu looked good so we chose it. Complaints 1. no plates for starters 2. veg + potatoes in buffet awful 3. No crackers, butter or plates for cheese and biscuits - sweets very limited. Complained to Food & beverages manager who responded by deducting wine + mineral water off bill(good)

Good Points: Excellent location, 10 minute walk into City centre. Good value room rate.
Further Comments: Hotel is ideally situated for walking into City centre, thus avoiding costly Car Park rates. Superior Room was large and comfortable with cheap Internet access. Hotel staff were efficient, moving us to another room when it became apparent that previous guests had been smoking in a non-smoking room.

Bad Points: Pool not designed for Families - not child friendly Changing area very poor for the amount of guests Room was very smokey upon entering Parking was difficult as it was full
Further Comments: Would like to have known that the pool was suitable for children and it had a no shallow end, as we based our choice of stay upon this. Althought he room stated it was a none smoking room it obviously had been a smoking room as it stunk of smoke. Although this is a 3 star hotel and we thought it was very good value for money, it was let down by the points above. We would probably recommend this hotel for people without young children.

Good Points: room was clean not a lot of room to move about with it being a family room for three people.
Bad Points: vacate rooms by 10.30am so that when you arrive you can get to the room before 2.00pm,to also include breakfast in the price.
Further Comments: i did request a smoking room which i did not get,i also thought the price was very expensive it was more like london prices plus i have stayed in far more superior accomodation than this for less money plus very poor when breakfast not included in the price we went to wetherspoons where we got an excellent breakfast for 1.99 per person unlike the novotel 12.00 per person are they having a laugh.

Good Points: great location, friendly staff and lovely comfortable surroundings.
Bad Points: Breakfast for the price quoted but that said we would certainly return.
Further Comments: Not much to add both my wife and I are looking to return to your hotel in the future but for a break without the kids ! - Ideal location and lovely walk into York. Thankyou.
