Further Comments: The hotel was in a very nice part of town and only 10 mins walk from the centre of York. It is a beautiful old building but, it really needs modernising to do it justice. The service was good and the staff helpful.

Good Points: The hotel was really good value for money with a warm and friendly atmosphere from the moment we walked in. There were plenty of tea and coffee / refreshments in our room and the room was clean and tidy. We also liked the fact that the hotel was so close to the city. We have already made plans to come again and stay in the hotel for a weekend break.
Further Comments: The hotel was clean / tidy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of refreshments and clean extra linen in rooms. The car park is spacious and there is a comfortable reception / bar area inside the hotel. Real good value for money. We would definately come back.

Good Points: Spacious room, good level of service, friendly staff, value for money.
Further Comments: The internal and external decoration made this an impressive hotel stay and far superior to other accomadation available in the city. the staff were welcoming and friendly the accomadation was excellent, the cost was good and less than other hotels in the area.definitly recommend to friends and family.

Further Comments: Enjoyable stay would stay there again good value for money. Breakfast was not included in the price. However, You could have breakfast if you wanted which we did & again this was good value for money. (English breakfast delicious)

Bad Points: Outside main hotel. No bath. Very dark room. Obviously not used much. Not enough windows and those there were opened across a footpath - very dangerous
Further Comments: I would not visit this hotel again. It was uninviting with staff being either invisible or not helpful. We waited ages to get a drink at the bar and when we inquired about dinner, we were just handed menus. We asked about adding on breakfast (our booking was room only) but we couldn't get any of the breakfast staff to understand our query as their English was not good enough. The breakfast room looked uninviting anyway so we left.

Further Comments: My initial enquiry with regards to a Hotel in the centre of York and at a reasonable cost was in fact met by yourselves on all points, and I will recommend your Hotel to any friends who want to visit York.

Good Points: It was clean and not to far away from the city centre.
Bad Points: Being seperated from the hotel you were across the road in a different part.
Further Comments: I enjoyed my stay in York as we go about 6 times a year. in General it was a good hotel

Good Points: Easy to locate and within walking distance of the Centre
Bad Points: Room was cramped
Further Comments: Location of the hotel is ideal for the Town Centre and is easily located with adequate parking. Although a single room was booked, it was very small and in need of refurbishment.

Good Points: The location was good.
Bad Points: The first two nights of our three night stay was in what can only be described as a cellar. There was wallpaper peeling of the walls, there was a big dirty stain on the carpet, there was plaster dropping off the walls in the shower area with damp, and worst of all after I complained to the night porter at 04-30 hours as the noise had kept my wife and myself awake almost all night (we tried to dismiss the noise the first night hoping it would not happen a second night) there was what we were told the pipes from the boiler running through our room. However we were given a different room for our third night but we spent the day catching up on lost sleep.
Further Comments: The location is quite good, we would like to have been informed that our stay would not have been in the hotel, we should have been told of the noise in the room, people that pay good honest money should not be put in a room with damp walls, dirty carpets and wallpaper peeling of the walls.

Good Points: Good location with free parking for a great price
Further Comments: Have used hotel several times,one of my favourites in York, mainly down to low prices & free parking. Main hotel has great character (with lovely open fires) but rooms can be basic, had room in the modern extension on this occassion and found it well equipped & clean.
