Good Points: Staff were pleasant.
Bad Points: Room was quite basic and duvet cover could have done with an ironing, you could not swing a cat in the bathroom, and because i did not want a full english breakfast and only wanted poached egg on toast i was made to feel a nuisance.
Further Comments: The door of the corridor leading to our room banged every time someone used it. We would describe it as more of a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel.

Good Points: The tea & coffee supplies were plentiful and the on-site parking meant we felt our vehicle was secure.
Bad Points: The tv reception was very poor and there was no welcome pack in the room
Further Comments: Overall the staff and proprietors were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was tasty and, although more choices of cereal would have been nice, it was perfectly fine and the staff were attentive. Overall this was a hotel that was competitively priced and I would use it again.

Good Points: The cleanliness of the room....the tv....tea and coffee provided...the comfortable bed..........the fact that I was moved there because my original room's shower didn't work without any fuss and the manager even helped me to move my things
Bad Points: no dislikes regarding the second room...but the first room's shower didn't work.....and it was very cramped....the wardrobe was pressed right up against the bed and there was difficulty getting into it....but as I say...the manager and staff could not have been nicer, or more accommodating..........also there was advertised a hairdryer in the room and trouser press....but there wasn't....I asked and was given the loan of a hairdryer though.
Further Comments: The overall stay was very enjoyable.....I cannot fault the staff or manager....they make it very homey and relaxed and friendly......and as I said...couldnt do enough for you........but due to my itinerary I was unable to partake of the breakfasts,I was out too early every morning... although it was included in the price..and not the fault of the staff.....but mine only......I did get coffee though on 2 mornings.....I did feel however that as I wasn't taking the price of the breakfasts....a little crestfallen that I was charged for a soft drink one evening.

Further Comments: the room we were allocated was on the top floor [3]and was small but O.K. for one night stay.The location of the hotel is central.the breakfast was very good.

Further Comments: The Penkelie Hotel needs to be cleaned. On arrival the duty manager checked us in and requested payment immediately. Room 4 where we stayed on entering very basic. The shower room had been renovated to a very poor degree. And was dirty. I asked the breakfast waitress ( the only person about ) if she would get the maid to clean the shower cubicle and explained how dirty it was.Polish chambermaids were to blame who didn't understand English during their training. On returning to the room the shower had been partly cleaned. Unfortunately the thick lump of dirt stuck to the shower head was still there and the cubicle were still splattered with something stuck to the glass. On leaving we pulled back the duvet and found little black bitts in the bed and both me and my husband were bitten on the feet. This hotel is part of a property management group but could not give me a VAT receipt.

Bad Points: room 3. inadequarte tv position an tv monitor not working .failed to fix problem after complaint.
Further Comments: My second time staying...would stay again the future.
