Good Points: We found the romm to be more than adequate for our needs. The guest house was spotlessly clean and the staff very good and helpful. Ideally placed for a gentle walk into York.

Further Comments: WE took Bull House on spec, but were very glad we did as. We had a wonderful break in York, and the staff were very helpful. I don't we could have found a better place to stay,

Further Comments: The hotel was easy to find from the directions and was easy (5Mins)walking distance from the town just as the description said. We were welcomed by the owner and made to feel at home . He made space in his garage for my motorcycle so that it would be secure. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. The ownwer provided us with a map and locations of some recommended places to eat. Whilst we were out on our second day the owner even hung out some washing we had done and left on the radiator, and returned it to our room when it was dry. Its the little things that make the difference. I would certainly recommend the Bull Lodge to friends and will stay there again in the future.

Further Comments: An excellent find overall: a clean, tidy, and well-run guest house, with cheery and helpful service, and a delicious breakfast. Superb value for money.

Good Points: It was near the city centre, and was clean and welcoming. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful.
Bad Points: I would have prefered a room with full en-suite facilities. However, there was a handbasin, and the bathroom (with shower, bidet and WC) was just next door, and shared with just one other room. It still represented good value for money.
Further Comments: I would have liked to have known beforehand that the room was not fully en-suite. However, as indicated above, it was only a slight disappointment. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast very good, and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of helpful information for tourists and sight-seers. The location was quiet, but easy to find with the maps supplied on the Active Hotels website. I have taken a copy of the guest house leaflet and would certainly use it again on a future visit.

Further Comments: Unquestionably the best place I stayed on my trip. The proprietors were very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The facility was clean and well-kept and the bed was wonderfully comfortable - a real pleasure after a long afternoon of walking. I paid significantly more in other cities for lower-quality accommodations. I found Bull Lodge to be a great value.

Further Comments: The room was comfortable, clean and attractive. It was on a quiet street, close to a bus stop. It was an easy walk to the center of town. The owner gave us good information to make our visit enjoyable.

Good Points: Had everything I needed to make the stay comfortable.
Bad Points: Better TV is about all.
Further Comments: The staff were very friendly and accomadating. My train was delayed for almost two hours and when I arrived almost an hour after I was due to book in there was a friendly face waiting to greet me.
