| Further Comments: very much a B & B with slightly restricted feel. This however seems unavoidable to the owners as they have to get ready for the next people etc.

Good Points: The room was spotless and serviced just as meticulously the following day.
Further Comments: The operators of Bull Lodge were very helpful about places to visit and where to eat. They have a complete selction of brochures and maps to get you started on your visit to York. The lodge is on a side street within walking distance of the city walls and in a very safe and quiet spot. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. I didn't get hungry for lunch until mid afternoon.

Good Points: I loved the privacy, and quiet, but prompt and effective, also friendly service.
Bad Points: I wish that I could have stayed longer, and that check out time and breakfast were a bit later.
Further Comments: I loved the privacy, and quiet, but prompt and effective, also friendly service. It was a peaceful area, only a short walk from town, and a very sunny, clean, and organized private room.

Good Points: Easy access to York attractions
Bad Points: Nothing
Further Comments: Roy the owner was pleasant and helpful. The hotel was quiet as were the guests - only seen at breakfast.Sharing a bathroom was not inconvenient (single room) but a more forceful shower would have been appreciated. I didn't use the lounge but it looked well stocked with TV and books etc. The TV in my bedroom was old but adequate with terrestrial reception.

Good Points: Very clean, quite cosy in a quaint cottagey style. Owners extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Breakfasts were excellent.
Bad Points: Bedroom curtains were very thin, meaning we awoke to bright daylight early every morning whether we wanted to or not.
Further Comments: The Bull Lodge is a small B&B in a residential part of York but very close to the City walls and the city centre. Also very handy for the University. The rooms are not huge, but comfortable, with tv, hairdryer and kettle. Our ensuite bathroom was small but with a good shower. Everything is spotless, and the owners are extremely helpful, answering any questions and going out of their way to help. Breakfasts are cooked to order and are wonderful. There is parking round the back of the B&B for about 3 or 4 cars. Guests are given a key and are free to come and go as they please. There is a great pub a short walk away towards the city walls (Rose and Crown) which does huge plates of food and good beer.

Further Comments: The Bull Lodge was conviently located to the city walls, about a 5 to 6 minute or so walk away, set it a quiet location. About a 3 pound cab ride back from the center of the city. The staff was friendly and provided me with maps and phamplets of the city upon arriving. On site parking was available, which also made it easy. Thanks!

Good Points: There was a warm welcome and attention to our needs. The accomodation was pristine.
Bad Points: A cramped bedroom with little space even to place two suitcases. the ensuite showerroom was similarly tight, although there was also a further large bathroom available for any guest to use.
Further Comments: Bull Lodge is but a brisk quarter of an hour walk to the centre of York and is in side street, a quiet location for such a central site. The hosts care for their guests' needs, if possible a little too intrusively (a matter of taste!). The driving directions to the Lodge are very explicit but contain too much detail, distracting a driver rather than improving the route! Notices in the accommodation display the same pernickitiness (e.g. how to open a window). The hosts are clearly proud of their accommodation and service; the hotel is clean, the breakfast freshly cooked to order.
