Good Points: It was very spacious and well furnished
Further Comments: We were very pleased with the room and we will request to occupy it in the future. The breakfast was not as appetizing as on our previous visit, however we are health contious, so food swimming in oil is something we like to avoid. Overall we had a very nice stay.

Good Points: The separate room for the third person in our case a child
Bad Points: The room was directly opposite the door on to the landing and was therefore very noisy.
Further Comments: Although the hotel was clean I feel that it was in need of an upgrade. In our room the wardrobe door did not close because of the poor siting of a mirror (it should have been lower or even on the wall) and there was peeling wallpaper and badly scuffed paintwork. Also the taps in the bathroom were very difficult to regulate.

Good Points: we thought the room was lovely with clean bathroom and beds which were very comfortable. also the facilaties were good.also lovely bright colours in the room.
Bad Points: we disliked the smell outside the room in the corridor it was a terrible smell which nearly made us sick.
Further Comments: we enjoyed out stay but we did not enjoy the restaurant. The starters we had were nice, but the main meal was terrible the green bean bake was awful, it had sloppy cheese and the green beans were hard! also the swordfish was absoulutly digusting! it was cold in the middle with a cold sauce on the top which had an unpleasant taste. The potatoes were bland tasteless and hard! Also the candles were ridiculous they were small tea lights on a small table, our napkin set on fire, because the candle was to small to notice. Nobody was around to help! we had to stamp on it. we also think it was far to expensive for the quality of the food, however the wine was very pleasant.

Good Points: Originally we were given a room in the main hotel but we asked if we could move into one of the bungalow rooms just outside the main hotel. We found it gave us more freedom & we would definitely stay in one again.
Further Comments: As I originate from Hoole, Chester I knew of this hotel & it's reputation & we were not disappointed in our stay. The hotel staff were friendly & effecient & we would not hesitate in recommending it to other people.

Bad Points: Room was very hot constantly despite the radiators being turned down - very noisy at times from above - guessing we were below a stairwell? (room 25) - couldn't get parked on our return to hotel saturday night

Good Points: The staff were very competent and welcoming and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable.

Good Points: Good Location
Bad Points: Had stayed previously and the bedroom was not as good on this occasion
Further Comments: Turned on bedside light and all lights fused, lady on reception informed me half the hotel's lights had gone out but the matter was soon rectified. Also out of the 3 radiators in the bedroom and bathroom only one was working in the bedroom. If the weather had not been so mild during our stay the rooms could have been cold. There was also signs of mould around the windows and the room was slightly shabby and in need of updating. The room I had been allocated on a previous visit last year was of a much better standard. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Further Comments: Turned on bedside light and all lights fused, lady on reception informed me half the hotel's lights had gone out but the matter was soon rectified. Good Points: The reception area was bright and attractive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast!
Further Comments: Whilst being OK, the room was rather in need of an uplift. There was damp in the corners and the bathroom showed signs of mold. The radiator in the bathroom was on 'boiling' all the time which was a health & safety risk as it could have burnt skin. The window only had a net curtain and this was torn. Although only two lights worked in the room, staff did repair the light outside in the corridor as soon as we reported it.

Further Comments: Dinner was terrible followed by a more disgusting breakfast.

Bad Points: Safety: the hot water tap was scalding hot (needs a notice) and wobbled (it was connected to a flexible pipe that was not attached firmly to the sink)
