Good Points: The location of the hotel is excellent as its in the town centre
Bad Points: The rooms were part of the extension of the hotel and so of a new build. The impression of the 'period' hotel is not accruate
Further Comments: The hotel is very nice with really good breakfasts. The grounds are nice to be in and staff are friendly. The location is very central to the town, just a few minutes walk away.

Good Points: The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Room service was very good.
Bad Points: In a hotel like the Alvaston Manor, the shower should not be in the bath but in a shower cubicle. I don't think you should charge extra for chocolate bars and Pringles, they should be included in the price. Smoking in the hotel should be banned, especially the bar.
Further Comments: My wife and I enjoyed the stay, we wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all the facilities that you offer.

Good Points: room clean and tidy, comfortable lounge/bar area
Bad Points: dining rooms could be open until 10pm for late arrivals
Further Comments: Should state that there are not smoking rooms available in this hotel prior to booking. Designated smoking areas should be made available to visitor's in lounge areas as well. Staff to be properly trained in use of tills at bar as was overcharged by ᆪ7.00 on round of drinks although this was rectified immediately when queried. Disabled ramps although in hotel required manual lifting into place when usage required this needs to be revised. General overview good location for visiting stratford area most amenities in walking distance of hotel.

Good Points: Nice room, good gym, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
Bad Points: Room service, price of wine, tiny tv
Further Comments: The location of the hotel was ideal for access to the town, and finding it in the first place was easy. The room was nice and well equipped, but our double bed was just two singles pushed together. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but room service was inadequate. I ordered a burger for ᆪ11 which is expensive but not ridiculous - when it arrived there were no fries due to the fryer being broken. 20 mins later they bought up a nasty bowl of mashed potato on its own mmmmmmm!! the fruit salad was pretty ordinary as well. Breakfast was fantastic - great buffet and an excellent selection of hot food.

Bad Points: Limited menu in restaurant.
Further Comments: Overall no other comments. Staff were professional and courteous, facilites were good. It met my expectations and was good value. I would stay here again when in the area as it is better than other places I have stayed in Stratford.

Good Points: The hotel itself had a lot of character, the room was comfortable and sapcious and had all the facilities we required. We didn't have time to use the leisure facilities on this visit but they appeared to be of high standard and the pool looked very inviting.
Bad Points: Some of the items in the mini bar were outrageous, ᆪ1.75 for a small packet of peanuts is going to far.
Further Comments: The hotel itself had a lot of character and was close to the town centre and all attractions. The room was comfortable and sapcious and had all the facilities we required, We didn't have time to use the leisure facilities on this visit but they appeared to be of high standard and the pool looked very inviting. Mini Bar was good and well stocked but some prices should be reviewed. On the whole a very nice hotel in a great location.

Good Points: I found the hotel extremely comfortable. The facilities were very good all round. The parking and access to Stratford were excellent and I would stay here again and commend it to others.
Bad Points: The member of staff who checked us in was not as welcoming as he could have been. Smiling would have been good.

Good Points: Good location, just over the river from the town centre. Modern pool and leisure facilities, great staff.
Bad Points: Get real with the restaurant and room service prices!
Further Comments: The exterior design of the hotel and the public areas will appeal to the traditionalist - lots of winding corridors, dark wood and beams. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the town centre (although you need to be pretty nimble crossing a very busy road!). The staff were without exception very friendly and helpful. The only negative point was that we felt the prices in the restaurant and bar were pretty outrageous (ᆪ17.45 for a club sandwich and Caesar salad?). Fortunately there are a lot of good places to eat nearby, in and around Sheep Street in particular.

Good Points: Little. The room, although adequate, no way merited the price tag.
Bad Points: The meals were expensive. The wine costs ridiculous considering the quality. The bar prices were daft, we paid the same for a Martini Rosso with lemonade at almost the cost of a full bottle in Sainsburys!! To make it worse we received a bill from the hotel shortly after our return billing us for a Coke from the mini bar. No one in their right minds drink from a hotel minibar, certainly not us! However, one phone call and they agreed not to charge us. On the plus side the restaurant staff were excellent.
Further Comments: Very Disappointing. ᆪ193 for a nights board, two small glasses of wine and two (smallish) meals. On arrival I suspected that they had been conducting some maintenance work as the indoor walkway passing the restaurant absolutely stank of something which we could only describe as vomit. When leaving we did not complain as the menu costs were quite clear and the room adequate. We have stayed at the Swans' Nest, Moat House, Falcon and Welcombe in Stratford. For value for money we recommend the Swans Nest opposite this hotel. Same owners, better value.

Good Points: The hotel is very conveniently located for the amenities of Stratford. The accomodation was very good and the gardens to the rear a delight to use. The pool was very good and facilities excellent. In particular the dining facilities were very good and the food excellent.
Bad Points: We had breakfast in our room all three mornings and each time something was either missing or incorectly presented. I have never seen an English breakfast served on a tea plate for instance (1 Morning only). On two days there was inadequate milk to serve 4 cups of tea and cereal. On one day there was no preserves and there were Danish Pastries as opposed to two servings of toast. Maybe a little more staff training is in order in this department. Overall, however, good and enjoyable.
Further Comments: The hotel is very conveniently located for the amenities of Stratford being within easy walking distance of shops and theatre. The accomodation was very good and the gardens to the rear a delight to sit or walk in. The pool was a good size and facilities excellent. In particular the dining facilities were very good and the food excellent. We enjoyed a very nice meal on our first night in comfortable surroundings. Although only two floors, my partner has a serious disability which makes climbing stairs difficult and this proved rather tiresome. If there is alift we failed to find it. I suppose anyone unable to negotiate stairs would be found a ground floor room but I don't recall being asked whether this would be required when booking so it could prove a problem on the day. On the whole very good and well worth a stay.

Good Points: situatoin
Bad Points: we wanted to order from the wine list in the resturant. ,so we had to wait a while because we were told we only have one wine list, which i find staggering for a hotel of this quality.
