Good Points: We had upgrade the room, and had an excellent view of Windsor Castle, just across the road. It was sufficiently spacious for our needs and had a double door onto a small balcony, allowing a wider view. That was an added bonus. The ensuite facilities were adequate, and included a small bath as well as a shower.
Bad Points: Unfortunately the toilet seat was broken and could have been dangerous as it moved unexpectedly! Towels and toiletries were only provided for one person, not the two of us who had booked in. Rectified when we asked, but had to do it on both days of our stay. The iron could not be used as it had previously been used too hot and melted some materials that were still 'glued' on!
Further Comments: The hotel is excellently positioned for a visit to Windsor and its castle. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The staff provided helpful and clear instructions on the best place to park a car, since the hotle does not have its own. We had a friend come in to the hotle restaurant on one evening, and her dietery needs were sensitively met. We enjoyed the two night stay and would return again.

Good Points: The rooms were relatively quiet but overlooking a side street.
Bad Points: The press
Further Comments: It was unfortunate that we had booked our weekend at the same time as the Queen's 80th birthday. The hotel was full of press who were noisy and pushy (not the hotel's fault) and there was noise on the Thursday night/early morning with commentators rehearsing their speeches. The bar was unuseable on some occasions because interviews were being filmed. Otherwise the hotel was clean, breakfast was good and the staff were helpful, if rushed off their feet.

Further Comments: This is probably the best hotel to stay at if you want to be near Windsor Castle.Its also slightly old fashioned decor.

Good Points: My room was very nice with a good view
Bad Points: I was woken early by outside noise but this is not down to the hotel!!
Further Comments: Served the purpose, The room was clean, shower was a little slow but I was on the 3rd floor. Staff on arrival were very friendly and welcoming.

Good Points: the bed
Bad Points: It was very tricky to adjust the heat in the shower. Most of the time I ended up having very hot showers, which was rather unpleasant. There is no safe in the cupboard and no mini-bar which is quite surprising for an hotel of this standard.
Further Comments: I would have liked to have the possiblity to book a room with the view over the castle.

Good Points: Beautiful, old charming hotel with an amazing view of the castle.
Further Comments: We booked an executive room online, which costed us a little more than a standard double would have, but I would recommend it. We asked for a smoking room with a view of the castle (half of the rooms don't have a view) and we were put on the top floor in a beautiful, big (especially for European stnadards) room with an excellent view. We stayed in Room 408 and I would ask for the same room again. Check-in and check-out times are good too - 2pm check-in and midday check-out. Highly recommended!!

Further Comments: Very good service, reception, staff, and the hotel. Just the breakfast for 10.00 pounds is poor. For 3 people 36 pounds, when just drunk a coffee and a few fruits, the price is not fair. But if I will have the opportunuty to come back I will do it again, but I will not spend money for the breakfast, 70 pounds about for 3 morning are a bit too much. Thanks Fabio

Further Comments: Whan I booked the room on line, It was unable to see the room size and facilities at your web. So, I was a bit disappointed when I checked in. The room is very small and no bath. It is better to see exact room image when I booked.

Good Points: Its right next to Windsor castle
Bad Points: Absolutely no facilities for non-adult visitors. There was no where for my wife and I and the children (14 and 6) to sit in the evening after we came back from a restaurant at nine o'clock and so we were forced to go to our rooms. Staff were not particularly bothered about our predicament
Further Comments: Well situated but relatively poor hotel which really needs some money spending on it!

Good Points: Excellent location, opposite the castle.
Bad Points: Some aspects of the hotel need updating, particularly carpets and decor.
Further Comments: Couldn't fault the hotel in terms of the helpfulness of staff and the service in the bar and restaurant. I did feel that we paid for the location, however, and that overall the executive bedroom was disappointing as it was a bit shabby!

Good Points: Convenience, quaint, location to tourist sites.
Bad Points: Bathroom cleanliness, bacteria was visible in the showerhead, and lime crust on the water faucets.
Further Comments: In general, the hotel is nice given its age. I have sensitive skin, and I developed a light rash as a result of the contaminated water from the showerhead.
