Good Points: The old school was in a beautiful setting. It was nice to see the original features ie high open ceiling.
Bad Points: fan in the bathroom noisy - not sure this could be improved.
Further Comments: The owner was very friendly from the start when he booked us in. He took time to talk to us about where we had been and why we were visiting. He also spent a long time explaining a recipe to my 13 year old son. The evening dinner was excellent. Breakfast was also excellent with everything there one could want.

Good Points: The view from our room, the architecture of the building, the home-like cozy atmosphere!
Further Comments: The owners of the hotel are a very cheerful and considerate couple. Upon arrival we were greeted and directed to our room where we found the accomodations very adequate. Our questions about the surrounding area and possible attractions were answered intuitively and with easy to understand directions. Our complimentary continental breakfast was well presented and nutritous, and accompanied with a soothing background of classical orchestra. The owners have thought long and hard about how to present their facilities in a warm and welcome way and have succeeded wonderfully!

Good Points: The friendliness of the hotel owners and staff. The original features maintained in the hotel. The warmth and comfort of the room.
Further Comments: the hotel is very comfortable and retains many of the original features of the building which adds to the ambience of the place. Being a small hotel means it is extremely friendly and very quiet and peaceful, perfect for a working business stay or a leisure break. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

Further Comments: a very pleasant weekend at my granddaughters christening, made even better by the chance to escape the family and have a little peace to ourselves.the hotel staff were excellent. friendly and outgoing and there was a nice family aire to the place. the breakfast was good, although we only had the continental style breakfast, there was more than enough to fill up for the day.we also dined on the last evening and the food was of an ecellent standard, well presented and very, very tasty. we will definitely use the hotel again if we visit the area in the future

Good Points: The old school house was an interesting building and set in lovely countryside. There was an excellent choice of food for the continental breakfast.
Bad Points: I did not think that the staff were particularly friendly. I think the check out time of 10am is a tad early at the weekend!
Further Comments: The hotel was good value at ᆪ51 for 1 nights stay when you think that a travel lodge costs ᆪ45 per night and has considerably less character. However, there was a slight feeling that as a guest you would have to fit in with the hotel's schedule e.g. check out times and breakfast ending at 9.30am on a Sunday. It would have been nice if the person who checked us in had introduced herself.

Good Points: Enjoyed the good sized double room.
Further Comments: it is a very nice and unusal place to stay in (as it's an old school building). The quietness of the area was a plus point for me.

Good Points: Lovely setting, not a standard chain type hotel, just out of town yet convenient, and with excellent staff and food.
Further Comments: This under-rated but excellent hotel is very special with countryside all around and yet only a few minutes off the motorway. The free wifi and lovely continental breakfast made it special. The evening meal may be expensive but of such quality that it made a special occassion extra special. The room was large and with en-suite facilities and although the bed was hard for our taste it is always a matter of personal preference and we have found the Hilton has harder beds! As one who regularly stays at hotels on business and pleasure this is one that will be top of my lists for further visits whether on business or pleasure.

Good Points: the rural location, the building itself, the quality of the restaurant food, and the informal yet professional service
Bad Points: While the room was large, some minor maintenance such as reaffixing tiles to the wall and regrouting would have improved our overall perception, perhaps some new matteresses (although this me depend on individual preferences)
Further Comments: Would I return to this hotel-yes and we plan to do so in the future. It's excellent value, is easy to get to. A little room maintenanace would go a long way and would be more reflective of the rest of the hotel which seems fine.
