Good Points: The outside and its location is impressive
Bad Points: General cleanliness.
| Further Comments: The hotel room we stayed in was dusty. The fan in the bathroom looked as though it had not been cleaned in a long time the same with lampshades etc. Our room was adequate but quite small. The breakfast was more like a cafe style meal.
I would say that we would not choose to stay in this hotel again.
It is a shame because from the outside and its location it is very impressive.
I do not believe in this case it was value for money |

Good Points: The hotel was clean and friendly with a wonderful location
Bad Points: We had to wait a while in the lobby before being let in as we were not sure if the bell was working or not, it does not sound in the lobby. Having said that, one it was apparent we were waiting at the door we were let in with an apology for the time it had taken to answer.
Further Comments: A really nice, friendly family run hotel. In a beautiful location overlooking the Esplanade and with lovely gardens, this hotel provided a tranquil break. The breakfast was excellent and service always came with a smile. Overall just what we needed to recharge our batteries.

Good Points: The accommodation was clean and the public areas (bar, hallways, breakfast room were wonderfully maintained and true to the 'period' nature of the building. The terrace provided a beautiful view over the sea and the hotel was situated in a quiet spot allowing for perfect relaxation.
Bad Points: The building is very attractive and the hotel, 'though adequate, is not exploiting its full potential. The lack of evening meals proved a bigger 'bug bear' than expected as the choice in Sandown was less than extensive.
Further Comments: The building is magnificent, the interior is kept clean and is well appointed. The room

Further Comments: The Hotel its self was very uninviting, and to be left waiting to get into the hotel the day you arrive I dont think is a good start to the stay. Equipment was very old and need reporting for not working even down to the fact that i had to put batteries into remote for tv. towels were old and sad, and to pay for extra for tea bags at a οΎ£1 a time very bad as well. The Hotel could do with some refurbishment. but I suppose this would cost a great deal of money.
