| Good Points: Friendly staff |
| Bad Points: Very expensive drinks |
| Further Comments: Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable however the air conditioning unit kept me awake.
The staff were very helpful and the food was good.
Leisure facilities on site would have made this top notch |

| Good Points: The TV was hidden behind a screen so was not over obtrusive. The surroundings were lovely, the buidling beuatiful and service amazing |
| Bad Points: Only thing that was a downer on the whole stay was that the taxi turned up and started charging and so was ᅡᆪ6 before we went anywhere. |
| Further Comments: The room was on first impression small but the bathroom was huge. there were a lot of little details in the room which then added to the overall pleasure of the trip. We decided to grab a bite to eat mid afternoon and had a fabulous couple of ciabatta's and cocktails that we thought were brilliant value for money. Getting ready for our evening out the staff kindly booked a taxi for us and everything was very relaxing. Unfortunately we had a late night and could not make breakfast which I was disappointed about but overall it was a lovely stay at a beautiful hotel. We have recommended it to a lot of friends and are likely to book again soon - hopefully for my work Christmas party which is at Sandowne Park racecourse.... if it is the same price. |

| Good Points: Setting of the hotel and ambience of the surroundings. |
| Bad Points: Claustrophobic rooms with little light |
| Further Comments: We were most disappointed to find that our room was so dark. When lying in bed there was no visible window. The secoond room we were moved to was little better. However the third move ( the following day) was excellent.
Being served a freshly cooked breakfast was a real treat as so many hotels use a buffet style which we do not like.
Dinner in the brasserie was of a poor standard definately not what we would expect in a four star hotel. However the food in the Oak Romm was good eventhough the vegetarian choice was limited. |

| Good Points: Joe - reception made the difference his customer service was second to none. The waiter staff in the Brasserie on second morning really dropped the ball in service. Overall the staff were good. |
| Bad Points: The view from our window not great, but everything good and enjoyed the hotel very much. Would return. |
| Further Comments: The rooms are more modern - have just been redecorated. The TV was hidden but make sure you understand controls. The old world charm of the lounge area and staircase was wonderful. Joe on reception was so helpful and could fix anything you need to know. The brasserie just needs to improve on friendliness and customer service just a little better. |

| Good Points: 2nd room. overlooking the park, everything but the plasma screen in the right place. first class bed and pillows, excellent towels and bed linen; but perhaps more useful aids in the bathroom such as cotton-wool balls and buds; a comb, and a nail file? Plasma screen may be concidered a modern necessity of life but too much for the size of the room. |
| Bad Points: 1st room; over the kitchen and waste collection area, beside the busy road and - apart from sight of the leaves on a chestnut tree - offering little of the promised park. However, staff did all they could to move me without fuss and bother, and made me feel comfortable about having to ask for an alternative room. Top marks |
| Further Comments: Basically as said before, plus - cheerful, calm staff answering all questions with a smile, and a desire to be helpful. What a wonderful change from those who do not know the difference between servility and service... Certainly a pleasant place to stay for those who do not like cities; especially if a courtesy car could do a station run? A flower in the rooms or a dish of pot pourri would be an additional touch,(perhaps overtly feminine?) as would anything but the standard packet of dry biscuits? |
