Good Points: Good location, the room was clean and had a large king sized bed!
Bad Points: I think it was overpriced for what you get in comparison to London hotels. Little extras such as papers in the morning should have been complimentary.
Further Comments: Apparently dinner was included in the room rate, however this was not clear on the web package. We didn't use this service but then were charged for soft drinks in the evening which I felt was inappropriate considering we should have had 2 extra meals included in our stay. Breakfast was enjoyable and adequate with helpful service. The rooms were pleasant and clean, but extra service was not offered. Non smoking rooms should be available if requested.

Good Points: The staff were friendly and proffesional. The room was pleasant with very good amenities and features.
Bad Points: In my particular room, there was no wardrobe, only hooks which was not very practical. However, overall, the room was nice and provided excellent value for money.
Further Comments: The hotel was located in an excellent area of Oakham with all of the main shops and offices a few steps away from the hotel. The staff were friendly and despite having to wait for them to serve you at certain times, they were very professional and helpful. The restaurant at the hotel served excellent food in a lovely setting and you were not highly limited to certain hours as to when you were allowed to eat. The room was very pleasant and warm yet there was also a fan for those who might need it. The amenities were very good with an extensive bath range and a tea/coffee set. The hotel was pleasantly decorated yet there was no wardrobe in my room which would have been very useful.

Good Points: The belvior which we stayed was wonderful, a lovely room to spent our 4th wedding anniversary in.
Further Comments: Having the parking available, especially if there was no room in the onsite car park, the hotel offered to refund the cost for parking incurred elsewhere. It was a most delightful visit although we found the meal a bit rushed, to enable more sittings.

Good Points: the room was lovely clean and well aired. decor was very nice and a very relaxing atmosphere althrough the hotel.
Bad Points: nothing
Further Comments: the manager and staff were excellent, nothing to mich trouble, infact they up graded our room. the meal we had was very tasty and well presented .an excellent hotel it is the second time we have stayed there, the first being when we renewed our vows and had the whole function day and night there. an excellent hotel

Good Points: Comfortable accomodation,vey friendly and attentive staff. The position fo the hotel was ideal being in the centre of the lively market place but with its own parking.Pleasant outside sheltered courtyard.
Bad Points: Nothing really.
Further Comments: Although the price was expensive we did book late and were only staying for 1 night.We may have been tempted to extend our stay if we had known about the weekend deals on offer We were happy with our experience of the Hotel and would recommend it.

Good Points: Very clean and tidy. Spacious, compared with other hotels.
Bad Points: Very noisy from the room above (but it is an old building). Next time I would request a first floor room.
Further Comments: I was lucky to get a parking space in the square outside the hotel. It would have been very difficult had the square been full. Very good dinner, but no bar area.

Good Points: Friendly helpful staff
Bad Points: 4 foot bed - very comfortable, but not an adequate double bed.
Further Comments: I would like to have known about the size of bed - I would not have booked this if I had been told. Also the gutter outside the bedroom overflowed all night ( yes it rained all night, probably the only night it had done so for weeks)so not a restful night. I would visit the hotel again, but I would want to check the details of the room first.

Good Points: nice large rooms and very well equipped .
Bad Points: bath very small and no shower except for a shower spray to use in the bath which meant the floor got very wet each time and slippery
Further Comments: our stay was very enjoyable and the hotel is very central to the town and the market,about 1 minute away ! we found the online booking very informative and the room was really lovely.overall we had a brillant stay with the hotel , people were friendly and would love to visit again !

Good Points: The Hotel was nicely situated in Oakham central to all our needs
Bad Points: The cold basin tap pressure very very low, had to use bath tap to clean teeth etc, but that was all,
Further Comments: Had read the reviews before we went, and it was every thing and more to the good, Staff second to none, Hotel very clean. We went on the leisure break weekend and could not believe the menu for Breakfast and also the wide choice for Dinner, presentation excellant, taste wonderful. Would go back again without doubt.

Good Points: location, on the whole attentive and friendly staff.
Bad Points: cheap toilet paper in bathroom and shower handset but no wall fixing or shower curtain.
Further Comments: an excellent short break with only very minor picky comments as above. sunday morning checkout staff at reception was very impersonal and just slightly soured the whole experience. hotel is in great location with plenty to do in the area. information to hand in the hotel if required. we travelled for less than an hour to get to the hotel and know the area but felt as if we had been away a lot longer than the 2 nights.

Good Points: The lovely, welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.
Bad Points: Nothing
Further Comments: This is a fantastic hotel and everything about it is wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is great, the rooms are always well presented and clean and we love the welcoming bar, whether it's for a morning coffee or a pint in the evening. My husband and I stay at other hotels throughout the UK but still come back to the Whipper year after year, because it feels like home. We have recommended it to everyone we know.

Good Points: Spacious , pretty room with good bathroom facilities
Bad Points: Surly manager - he seamed stressed ; with a demeanour akin to that of 'basil fawlty' on a good night.
Further Comments: Charm of hotel outweighs lack of welcome at reception. Parking in public square ;hotel bistro on site - plenty of local eateries though I found nearby chinese dull and devoid of atmosphere. Nonetheless,good value for money ; with more personal welcome ( and personable management ) would be an automatic choice for area.
