Marsham Court Hotel near Bournemouth: Bournemouth Hotels

Good Points: lovely position near beach with good views from the hotel bar and lounge
Bad Points: had to request new room due to wallpaper falling off ceiling and damp. Bar had old water damage to ceiling. Other guests complained of heating not working.
Further Comments: Tired hotel in fab location in need of a facelift. Staff efficient.

Good Points: Position of hotel, easy car parking, size of the room, storage in the room
Bad Points: Shower was very poor indeed - no thermostatic control so temperature was impossible to set; it kept changing
Further Comments: Had we known that the showers were so cheap and awful we would not have booked at this hotel. If you only ever want a bath fine; if you want a shower go elsewhere.

Good Points: The outside of the hotel was very attractive and in a very good location.
Bad Points: The inside of the hotel needs redecorating but overall is a very nice Bournemouth hotel.
Further Comments: Overall, the hotel was very nice, the breakfast is extremely good and the evening meals are good value for money.

Further Comments: Had a lovely weekend, booking the accommodation was very easy online and the directions to the hotel were straight forward. Within walking distance of beach plenty of places to see things to do. Staff in the hotel friendly and helpful.

Good Points: All the staff were extremely polite and nice. Also the room was very clean and tidy. We were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. The staff were also very helpful.

Further Comments: When we arrived we were checked in and in our room within 5 minutes. The room was very clean and tidy, maybe a bit stuffy, but not a major probem! The bar and outside area are in a nice setting, with a view of the sea. The staff were very helpful, and always around to answer any queries. The room was very spacious, which was good, seeing as it was so hot outside! When we checked out we were dealt with as quickly and efficiently as when we arrived.

Good Points: Very nice location, gorgeous pool area, some very helpful staff, plenty of space in the carpark
Bad Points: Room on the 3rd floor was tired and in need of total refurbishment. However worst of all, even with open windows, it was stiflingly hot (this on an average weekend weatherwise - in the heatwave the previous weekend it must have been unbearable)
Further Comments: The hotel was good in parts but generally suffered from that tired old early 80's look. The lower floors appeared to be more modern but the 3rd floor was a 21st century Fawlty Towers. Showers were fixed at pygmy height for some unfathomable reason (check room 312) and the airless atmosphere was hideously oppressive. Staff were generally very courteous and helpful, special mention to the lovely lady who greeted people at breakfast. The location, the very inviting pool area and the relatively spacious public areas and pretty terrace have the potential to make this place a real winner but the bedrooms (3rd floor at least) let the hotel down completely with cheap furniture, fusty floral prints that went out with the ark, and generally shoddy decor.
