Good Points: Overall ambience, clean, tidy, staff helpful, ideally placed, ......
Bad Points: Dislike would be too strong ; but the choice of meals were somewhat limited, however the qulaity of food offered was good
Further Comments: As above in the likes box; this medium sized hotel was in hindsight an excellent choice. Everything about the hotel was clean with good fittings and fixtures. One bonus was a PC in the room which which kept my teenage daughter happy ! The car parking was excellent with the hotel only 5 minutes max walk from the city centre.

Bad Points: No heating on during the day until 17.00, which is no comfort in winter! Once the radiators were on they were very poor and we had to ask for a portable heater. The bathroom was to small. The sink was exceptionally small.

Bad Points: The room was cold and could do with decorating + bed was very small.
Further Comments: The Hotel was ideal for a 1 night stopover but would not have found it nice to stay longer as room was not very comfortable or warm

Good Points: Central location
Bad Points: Was expecting rooms to be more traditional setting as victorian hotel
Further Comments: Slight problem with the room/electrical socket which was responded to immediately and staff were very helpful.

Good Points: booked a room but got a suite, very nice indeed
Bad Points: a little out of date in the bedrooms and there was only a shower no bath
Further Comments: staff were very good indeed, restuarant was a little resticted on the menu but the food was excellent

Good Points: Closeness to town centre and sea front. Ample parking.
Bad Points: Tired Rooms and noisy water tank above bedrooms on top floor
Further Comments: Easy to find of main A338. Close to town ans sea front. Breakfast very good in nice light dining room. Hotel old and creaky but not noisy with fire doors. Only complaint was noise from the water tanks above our bedrooms so had to sleep with tv on.Staff very nice and friendly.

Good Points: A nice hotel with friendly and prompt service at reception and at breakfast.
Bad Points: Slightly draughty, especially in the bathroom - the old sash windows meant it was a bit cold and there seemed to be no heater in the bathroom.

Good Points: Very close to shops and night life. Good breakfast
Bad Points: Rooms could have done with a lick of paint and also the bathroom but appeared clean and had everything we needed

Good Points: It was clean, tidy and more than adequate for our b and b requirements. It was also a good base as was near to the town and to the beach/pier
Bad Points: The TV had to be watched via the pc. The picture quality was poor. The bed had a large dip at the side where people had obviously sat over the years! A new mattress would be favourable
Further Comments: The weather was appalling so we stayed in the hotel most of the 2nd day of our 3 day stay. On arrival the lady at reception was very cheerful, helpful and informative. We spent our 1st evening in the bar/lounge area. There was entertainment in the form of a 'pub' style singer who wasn't to our personal taste but went down well with the other (older) residents. It wasn't at all unpleasant though! The bar staff were very pleasant and friendly. The lounge area was comfortable and full of old books which were very interesting to browse through. Breakfast was very enjoyable with plenty of choice of what to eat and an endless supply of coffee, tea and fruit juice.the 2nd night that we were there we ate at the Aruba bar on the beach next to the pier in the evening after spending the day shopping. when we got back to the Hotel bar they were having a quiz night. It seems that there is a good effort to keep their guests entertained. we found this break was very relaxing and that the room we were in was clean and perfectly suitable for our requirements. The staff in the dining area, reception and bar were all very helpful and friendly.

Good Points: Most unique single rooms (Captain's Cabin and Quaterdeck)I have ever stayed in
Bad Points: Big mark and flaking ceiling above bed in captain's Cabin
Further Comments: Staff were friendly but seemed inexperienced in Bar and restaurant. Reception excellent.
