The Met Leeds near Leeds: Leeds Hotels

Good Points: The Met has been refurbished to a very high standard. Although the hotel decor is now modern original features have been maintained, which is good. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay however the room was a little small.
Further Comments: The Hotel Met is very well located. A short work brings you to shops, bars and restaurants. It is closed to the railway station and bus terminus. The accommodation is comfortable with everything you need for your stay. The staff were very polite and helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant however the menu was displayed in the lift and we thought that the prices were reasonable although a cup of coffee in the lounge was a little over priced.

Good Points: First class accommodation and service in a centrally located, attractive hotel. Not cheap but overall, good value for a city centre hotel.
Bad Points: Early morning noise from catering/refuse collection staff can be quite disturbing when staying in certain bedrooms.
Further Comments: I look forward to staying at the Met in Leeds - it provides everything I need by way of quality accommodation, attentive staff and central location. As a lone female traveller I feel very secure and comfortable staying at this hotel.

Good Points: Where it was in relation to the city centre. The food/room service was reasonable. The beds were comfortable and clean. There were also rooms for smokers.
Bad Points: Cleanliness of the room, the bathroom,carpets and walls appeared to be unclean.
Further Comments: It was handy for the city centre, there are very nice pubs and places to eat around the corner from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also reasonably priced

Good Points: I liked the layout of the room and the deep bath.
Bad Points: General communication, and politeness to guests.
Further Comments: The main problem with this stay was to do with payment. My secretary had faxed corporate credit card details prior to my arrival. During check-in I was told no such fax had been received. I called my work in Australia, and they then faxed the details again, and again I was told by reception staff that no fax had been received. As I was about to call Australia again, the manager of the front desk told me that there had been a mistake, and the first fax had indeed been received after all. All was well, the bill would be charged to the corporate card details provided in the fax. I went on to relax and enjoy the next few days at my conference. When it came to checking out, there was a different front desk manager, who went back to the first story: no fax had been received. I told her I had been told the fax had come through, and she then said We don't know anything about that

Good Points: It looked great but unfortuntely the rooms were a huge let down.
Bad Points: I expected it to be a contemporary, modern hotel with excellent rooms, as advertised but i was very wrong. It was a blessing really that i was travelling alone as the room would not have been big enough for two people.
Further Comments: I would not stay at this kind of hotel again.

Good Points: Location, very close to Leeds station
Bad Points: There was a conference at the hotel during our stay, and due to the lack of another suitable area the reception was very busy and noisy at times whilst serving conference coffee etc.
Further Comments: The Met is a clean, comfortable and convienient hotel for the visitor to Leeds. An easy to find 5 minute stroll from the station. Check in was painless and express checkout available. The room decor was tasteful and well planned. The bathroom samll but functional with a nice selection of toiletries. The bed was extremely comfortable as was the mattress. A hotel booklet summerising services etc would have been very useful.

Good Points: Spacious well-appointed room
Further Comments: The car parking arrangements were difficult, having tried to get a car park space we had to reverse down a ramp onto the road outside the hotel's entrance, probably better to ignore the hotels small car parks. That aside the hotel and accomodation were first class and the staff friendly.

Good Points: Service and staff were great... stayed in a room not yet refurbished but that was no problem
Bad Points: Parking... what a nightmare!!!!!!!!!
Further Comments: The hotel is lovely. There was a wedding party on when we arrived but in no way did this affect our service at all. Unfortunately I did not specify a smoking room when I booked so we had to change rooms. This was done quickly and with no fuss. We had room service which was great and quick and checking in and out was easy. The only down side is the parking situation. Get that sorted and it will be fantastic.

Good Points: The hotel has been improved considerably since its refit and is now comparable to the best hotels the city of Leeds has to offer
Bad Points: A delayed check out for weekend stays would encourage a younger clientele who wish to partake in the varied and extensive Leeds nightlife. In terms of standard of accommodation there is little to improve upon
Further Comments: I would have no hesitation in booking another night at the Met- it is well located towards the centre of popular Leeds night-time destinations and the quality of its accommodation is first class. At no point during my stay did I have any criticism of the provisions made by the establishment for my comfort and well-being

Good Points: It was extremely clean and very well presented. The staff were extremely friendly and everything exceeded my expectations. Me and my friends were delighted with the whole experience and would definately stay again.
Bad Points: The only thing that was a bit dissapointing was the check in times. It seemed fairly late checking in at 3pm and did not leave us much time for shopping! But other than that there is nothing else which i believe could be improved.
Further Comments: There is absolutely nothing about my stay at this hotel that i would have changed except for me finding it quicker, but that was my own fault. I was staying at this hotel due to the fact that it was my birthday and it was in a prime position for the pubs and clubs for my night out. It could not have been any better accomodation if it had tried. It was the perfect hotel to celebrate my birthday in and im sure i will be visiting again in the near future.

Good Points: Room design pleasantly modern, general decor good
Bad Points: No air-con in room, but very noisy with windows open. Wedding-Disco in evening was too noisy to discuss business over a quiet meal and drink. One member of party had room on 1st floor & couldn't sleep for disco noise
Further Comments: Rooms and decor pleasantly modern and comfortable. Noise level at weekend was very loud and impossible to find a quiet area in the hotel to have dinner and conversation. Food at nearby restaurants was good, but we couldn't sit and talk in the hotel. Breakfast food was good as was the service.

Further Comments: The price of drinks in the bar at night was extortionate.

Further Comments: It's a lovely hotel that has made every effort to maintain a very grand and classy feel whilst being very friendly with ultra contemporary touches. It feels like everyone internally is making every effort to make your stay very special and I would recommend it to anyone.

Good Points: Modern and well decorated room. Good clean bathroom with soaps etc. Iron & Board available in room
Bad Points: Provide free Wi-Fi internet access like many other hotels.
Further Comments: Good hotel in terms of accommodation. Would have preferred to have been offered inclusive rates for Dinner B&B; this might have then tempted me to eat in the lounge/restaurant rather than sample the many other eating establishments in the local vicinity.
